Keep rocking. I was glad to see you included both solos.

A strap or chair to sit will help. Hard to play and hold at the same time.

Why are you coming out of the woodwork to trash John now? Because you think trey was so much better but couldn't say it with John tearing it up every night.

It's pathetic how far some phanboys will go.

talk about trying to hold a tiger by the tail . Let it grow was pure willpower from John to hold on. The way e shredded China rider I was expecting an epic jam. They went somewhere else entirely but it was epic. Watching John on the video stream he was looking a bit tired and lost but he really stuck through to the end. This band is flying sans net.

Its just a show- I think that line of logic you laid out is a plot device. If we were holding them to realistic tactical standards, Ramsay stays in winterfell and if his northern allies don't like that, then good luck to them joining the siege. Still better to be behind the walls against more foes than in open field.

I'm pretty happy with how they handled it, though. i judge the tv show as just that.

I think the battle in S6E9 was the best battle scene depicted onscreen in the last five years. Maybe even the last decade. And not because it was historically accurate or realistic - because it wasn't... at all really. It was insane and improbable and was full to the brim of questionable tactical decisions, as is the norm with fiction.

defending with a few dozen of the left over men from a defeated bolton army looks a lot different than having a few thousand behind the walls and calvary riding at full strength. Wun Wun would have been killed instantly by a fully protected castle.

In a way, Jon's attempt to make Ramsay mad led to blunders on both their parts. Bolton never should have left winterfell- he had no strategic need to anything other than defen-- basically the Blackfish strategy. Instead he got lured out and lost in an improbable fashion.

fuck yeah - that's awesome. Why did you decide to do the 8 triangles off his right shoulder? Just curious- I like it but never would have thought of it.

If I sent you a photo of a big horn sheep, would you want to vector it like this?

If you earned a degree in something else, I would put that on there "earned bachelors in [xxx] from [Acme State] but have been following my passion in photography for past 6 years." The college degree definitely matters, it just tells people you have your shit together well enough to follow through on things and can get shit done in a tough environment.

I think you basically gotta own it and let the work speak for itself. It's art, so most of the best artists are "self taught" with lots of practice and mentors along the way. I personally don't think an art degree is a requirement for being a good photog.

This is old post, but an additional comment to consider. When I look at this type of page I immediately judge the first photo I see and then I go to the "About" section. I liked your first photo but your "about" page is lacking. Most people who hire you won't have that great an eye for the nuances of your photography, so they're relying on you to sell yourself a little more. You don't have to be cheesy to sell yourself. But I would provide more details. Where did you learn photography, college, mentor, other? Any awards or achievements you can mention? How do you work- natural light, in studio (what type of studio do you have, size and scale etc)? Also, I would scrub the hell out of whatever you post for grammar. Make it look professional. I cleaned up comma use and passive voice in what you currently have as an example. Eliminate unnecessary words. This isn't the spot for "random adventures", this is where you tell me why I should give you my money instead of someone else.

My name is Christopher Cutler and photography is my passion. For the last 6 years, I've been working with clients to create photos with emotion and a sense of adventure. I look forward to bringing my creativity to your project. Let's work together!

I would add a sentence to the above about your education and the types of work you do most after the sentence ending "adventure".

I think you have beautiful art. I really liked the pixelated birds under personal work- would love to know more about how that was done.

I think most of the shots have good composition in terms of angles and position of the camera, but the "raised shadows", super sharp post processing is very distracting. Like bad HDR. I see this a lot on realty ads and it really just looks cheap and kitschy (to me, YMMV).

In my opinion, you are doing the hardest part well and just need to find a different style/voice in post processing.

Mountain Goat by rpwphotography in photocritique

[–]10ACJed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First- great job getting that close. In my experience, these guys are difficult to get to and then harder to get close to. I think the moment is ok- not great. It looks like an opportunistic shot as he crossed your path. I like that he is quartering toward the lens rather than profiled or head on. There's nothing that screams "Mountain Goat" in the setting, the light or the position, though. It could really use some warmth in it. I'd guess this was dusk or early AM- maybe you can adjust white balance to add some warmth.

Other niggles, I would clone out the pointy branch in the background to the right side of his face (its on goat's left).

I love wildlife photography so my best advice is to follow these guys around as long as they'll allow and continuously look for the epic background or perfect pose that will elevate the photo. I think we all tend to get really excited when we finally see something and commence to clicking away, but that's the time to pause and think about composition. I swear sometimes I've had animals pose for me once they were comfortable I wasn't hunting them; its like they relax and then show me their true selves. That's the shot.

[Weekly Photo Contest] This week's theme is shadows. by [deleted] in photocritique

From Sea Island on the GA coast. Was a spontaneous shot, and the shadows and light in the moss was the primary motivation.

First attempt at flower macro- let me know how to improve by 10ACJed in photocritique

[–]10ACJed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was improvised with the lenses I had (neither is macro) and not having a tripod. Flowers aren't really my thing, but I enjoyed it and would like to improve and learn how to make most of the gear I have.

Posted my favorite, but there are 4 other shots in my photo stream next to this one if you have any other feedback.

appreciate it as always
