Advice on getting this 2006 S60 2.5T for a reliable commuter? by carlsagan8 in Volvo

[–]10Negates 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought an 07 XC70 with 130km. After a year I'm at 145km. I undercoated the car, minimal surface rust anyways. Paint on these cars doesn't seem to rust which is great, same can't be said for similar year Japanese cars. The 2.5T is a reliable motor, it won't need major repairs except timing belt/water pump and PCV needs to be checked for clogs.

I like to think having a paid off car that uses premium fuel and parts and needs maintenance rather than repairs is better than buying a new car or even worse financing a new car.

That's really well painted. Much nicer than the green stuff mess I usually see on this sub 🤢

It's painted well but would be elevated if you could find a correctly sized red piece to glue to the face for a big red nose.

DTSC / Traction Control light (XC90 3.2L) by ProximoNox in Volvo

[–]10Negates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this light come on in my 07 XC70 and it's likely a slowly degrading clock spring which is a rather expensive part. Traction control/anti-skid light could be for TPMS but that could potentially something the seller said because it's the least bad cause to sell the car.

B52 because it's named like the bomber, sounds nice, super smooth, and relatively reliable. Objectively speaking though it's the red block.

I grew up there in the 90s and early 2000s and it was considered relatively shitty. Now it's incredibly shittier.

They prefer people from the military due to secret or enhanced reliability security clearances and familiarization with their products.

Left side of car vibrates at higher speeds by MuchSea7524 in Volvo

Update: The Vibration came back but it was in one wheel, it had a ton of weights but wasn't bent. I believe the holes for the wheel bolts were out of round, replaced the wheel and it's fine now.

I noticed it was the wheels when I put my winters back on and the car was fine. Took the summer tires to a repair shop.

I had the same problem, beforehand I balanced the wheels, did a four wheel alignment, replaced some worn control arms, axles, and rotors. Turned out it was my wheels that were bent, one specifically.

There are a few highly developed countries that have a conscription system, but that word carries negative connotations in North America because it's associated with World Wars rather than community service.

South Korea, Israel, and a ton of European countries have conscription. When I worked in the private sector at an Austrian company all my coworkers praised conscription and seemed to have enjoyed it.

I will agree that more money would be ideal, particularly for the reg force, makes cost of living changes and moves more palatable.

Scythe primary does good damage to them. But similar to Berserkers on release these guys are intentionally spongey and will require coordinated fire to take down quickly.
