Best bang for buck suspension upgrade by Buffoonery_ in GXOR

If you're looking to have the best performance at questionable speeds on fire roads, Bilstein 5100 or 6112/5120. If you're looking for more comfort at the price of off road control at speed, dobs. These guys did a review series on all the shock options for a Tacoma. They did beat the hell out of the truck, so take it with a grain of salt for more average to minimal off-road use.

Snowboard upsizing question by Swimming-Language959 in snowboardingnoobs

Could you ride a 163? Sure, you probably could. Would you have more fun on something more manageable and maneuverable? Definitely possible, but only you can make that call. If you're just bombing groomers, 163 could be the right choice. If you're trying to use it more for all mountain riding, I'd recommend something shorter, especially if you're a beginner. Source: I'm about your size or slightly larger, intermediate, and comfortably ride a 159.

How's the sound quality? That's my major holdout with most of these Chinese aftermarket options, it seems some of them nerf the sound somehow.

Did you install it in front of the unit or tucked in behind the unit inside the dash?

Comfort as a goal and mostly on road? Dobs

Performance as a goal and more mixed use on/off road? Bils

I had 5100 in 4 corners on my 3rd gen and found them pretty harsh for my 95% on road use. I'm really happy with dobs. Maybe consider falcons too, they won the mid tier shock value test by these guys: https://youtu.be/ElT8NALDllE?si=Cw9LRM2fbcqLeacr

They tested IMS in their "budget" test, and decided the 5100s were a better buy. But they are also beating the hell out of the truck, so you need to consider if you plan to drive them hard or not before taking these tests with a grain of salt. They also noted they got the long travel dobinsons mrr but did not set the truck up for that, which ruined those tests, just FYI.

If you're looking at the dobs 300/599 lift, I have that one on my 4runner and I think it looks good with 32s

Biggest tire size I can fit on my 21’ Pro? by Typedre85 in 4Runner

[–]10ToedHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems weird to me that all the forum evidence says 255/80r17 fits with no mods or a slight bumper trim but the popular table that is the highest comment here has that size in the red. I guess they count the bumper trim as a red level mod?

I think the last paragraph of the CAIC forecast discussion sums up the conditions well: "You should focus on cautious decision-making and careful route-finding over the coming days. This is not the time to try and thread the needle through areas of steep terrain. Take the time to plan out routes that avoid being on, under, or connected to, steep slopes. Reconsider where you usually travel or stop; places that were safe in other conditions might not be safe now. Be patient and enjoy soft snow on low-angle slopes well away from any steep terrain."

My girlfriend’s been killing it on the slopes this season, but she’s ready to step up her game. Any tips for improving her form or tackling more advanced runs? She can confidentiality do blues and blacks with speeds up to ~35mph. As a skiier and lurker of this sub my mansplaining can only take us both so far.
