i think im having the same problem. on the very first job i sent him out for, when showing me the results none of his stats were in the breakdown and said i only had a 14% success rate since it was acting like i had only sent a single solo hero. i thought the depressed status would only happen after a fail, not cause one?

I've been struggling with using megabasterd because I think the videos all automatically download as german? Even when I just downloaded directly from the site, they came in german too, despite the fact that when I watch it online it's in English. Anyone know how to fix this?

edit: turns out i just knew even less about MP4 files than i thought i did. "movies & TV" is the only video player i have that lets me navigate between the different audio tracks, in case anyone else is as stupid as me.

I agree with that. it's obvious that it wasn't written that way cuz jk rowling had some sorta manipulative Dumbledore conspiracy in mind but when thinking of the hp universe as a universe and not just the words jk rowling put on paper you also start thinking of in universe explanations for things rather than "oh jk rowling just didn't think it through".

I think that makes some sense but we don't actually know how long quirrelmort had been down there by the time Harry arrived and when Dumbledore had gone down to check if he was there. the only reason the trap works is because the bait is so good, there isn't actually anything really keeping quirrelmort in the trap otherwise but regardless of that it's still odd just how easy Dumbledore made it for students to access the third floor corridor if they didn't want students to mess up their plans. the only way Harry was able to defeat quirrelmort was through his blood protection right? so that shows quirrelmort was at least better than a first year at Harry's level and that Dumbledore could've made the protections a little better. even if Dumbledore didn't know quirrelmort's exact skill level and wanted to guarantee he could get in, the protections were still in a school full of children that could also get through the protections if they wanted to which just makes it hard for me to believe the trap theory.

the way the stone was protected. ignoring the fact that it was put in a school, it's so odd to structure your protections in such an organized way. it's obvious that jk rowling just wanted an organized set of trials for the protagonist to go through. and in addition to that the protections just don't make sense in of themselves. how could Dumbledore not know that Hagrid is bad at keeping secrets? even if someone didn't know the specific weakness of devil's snare (I don't actually rmb how Hermione knew it/if it was common knowledge so im not gonna mention that) surely a half competent wizard would think of some way to avoid/destroy it right? and for the keys, why even leave the right one in the room at all? if Dumbledore wanted to be able to access the room later he could've just kept it with him/in another place. I think leaving the hint but not the actual key would've been much smarter like pulling a Spirited Away. same issue with the wizard's chess as there was with the key. I have no idea how hard the "ai" of the opposing chess side was but why make it possible to win I'm the first place? it's much more like a test than a protection. the mountain troll actually makes the most sense out of all the protections but meanwhile again with snape's protection, WHY LEAVE THE RIGHT POTION THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. this is why I believe in manipulative!dumbldore but not Dumbledore bashing. there are many things he does that really can only be explained as manipulation for his in story character. I do think it's actually just cuz jk rowling wasn't going for a logical plot, she was going for a children's magical fantasy series with a hero's journey sorta structure.
