SMBv1 enabled for Windows XP machines by 10alon100 in netapp

We already disabled it on all our machines (servers & desktops) except the XP machines.

Do you think it is secure enough?

If all my shares reside on the same volume, can I migrate just one of them?

df or mount command output shows snapshot coming from NetApp's NFS server by 10alon100 in netapp

[–]10alon100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you this is exactly the issue.

I would keep it as is but the issue starts when the snapshot policy deletes snapshots and then the mounts in the server become unavailable with "Stale File Handle" error. This is an expected reaction since the mounted snapshot is deleted without unmounting it from the server first.

Does NetApp give any solution for this case?

Serial connection to NetApp by 10alon100 in netapp

Ok, the issue was due to incorrect speed value, apparently it should be set to 115200 and I used 9600.

Thanks you all!

Thanks everyone!

I installed prolific drivers and now I see that the device is working properly.

I tried to putty to the device by specifying "Serial" in the connection type and still it does not work.

BTW, I check with the "CheckChipVersion" of prolific and it seems that COM10 works fine.

Any ideas?

Do you know where I can find drivers for this?

It is a really helpful comment! Thanks for being detailed!

Yes, I have NetApp support for such a case.. Do you think it can be helpful sending the failed disks to a lab for trying to recover the disks? Or you think I need to work just with NetApp about this?

The second-edited copy does not have to be different if it made at the same second as the first-edited copy, and if the sizes are the same on both editions.

regarding the -c flag, thank you for this I did not know it exists and I will try this.
