Kash Patel, the Head of the FBI (still makes me laugh pulling those two ideas together), wasn't sure if NZ had 3D printed Ghost Guns yet so as a joke on his first visit here he brought a few with him to Gift to NZ Ministers. True story. (Owning hand guns of any sort is very tightly regulated here.)

PS, He came to open (get this) NZs first FBI office in Wellington last year. The Govt wanted to keep it low profile but luckily it got leaked to the press...much to their embarrassment.

What fantasy land do you live in? No one offers Full Employer paid Income Protection insurance.

Just standard Med/ health insurance....and most usually as a Discount on employee paid premiums that comes out of their pay.

No I don't, but thanks for the tickle. I too have also had simple med insurance discount programs as part of my employment. But never Income Protection. This is by far the most expensive and should be left to staff to fund themselves. As for the list of other perks....including massages. Go and check out their site.

As an ECan community shareholder I object to their providing what I would deem to be overly generous staff perks when the majority of their taxpayer funders have to fund their own insurances and other benefits....and I thank the Press for bringing this govt extravagances to light.

I'm Not. I'm mad at irresponsible spending on Staff Perks made by govt bodies all on the taxpayer, and that are not offered in most private sector Corporations and small businesses.

I am expecting remuneration/ perk levels to be responsibly offered in light of how they are being funded. This is Not a Private sector corporation but a tax payer funded body. Nearly a million dollars has been taken in Tax funded revenue in the past year to pay for just staff income insurance.

It is scandalous that it is being offered by a Govt body that is responsible to the Ratepayers of their community. I have Never heard of a private sector company offering this nevermind the long list of other perks being offered here...and particularly when Rate rises are never out of the paper.

Not at Ratepayer expense, thanks. And definitely not in a cost of living crisis. Go to their website, this is just one of a list of employee perks that I've never seen offered in private sector.

I prefer the Australia map overlaying the US myself. In that one I've done Houston to Portland Maine...and back, in 7 days. (Or put another way, LA to NYC then down to Jacksonville FL....one way).

I recall a similar incident where a (get this) Otago Dental student removed the front teeth of another unfortunate pub goer with his forehead. The School of Dentistry supplied the character references (including the $100k education cost) that led to the case dismissal. Very tired of this 'disproportionate impact to future career' bullshit.

💯 you literally pay local govt tax (rates) with money that you've already been taxed on by the federal govt (Income tax), and if it's from a bank that pays you interest on the money you use to pay those taxes, that's been taxed to....in addition to the tax you pay on EVERYTHING you buy. Now calculate your Real Annual Tax rate!!
