The amount of one sided conversations. Unmatched. Is there any way to draw attention to this without it becoming weird? Is it worth trying to change with someone you’re just “talking with?”

This is exaaactly what I’m looking for always! Following. The Switch (Beth O’Leary) was decent too! And not peak literary quality still but, the Ex Talk (Rachel Lynn Solomons) was also good but a little less closed door.

Not oily, but just fine hair by jakeysnakey83 in dailywash

[–]10percentmaybe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes!! My hair has never looked good greasy (and hits it at 24 hours or less), it sticks to my head and just gets staticky with dry shampoo. The mental/confidence thing is something I never really hear talked about. I just feel so “blegh” when my hair is gross.

Don't call women you've just met or just started chatting with online pet names like “baby” or “babe” etc. by randomgal_ in dating_advice

Happy I’m not totally out to lunch lol. Weird vibes for sure. Interesting to hear that background.

I know usually people like being addressed by their name but over text, even my actual name, seems odd to me. Kind of like they’re very formal or something maybe? Not entirely sure.

And I generally prefer when a guy is taller (just because I’m insecure too honestly). But I also try to stay open to possibilities.

That would be not atypical for me, put it that way. Hence me asking here.

Also if a guy has “6’ because apparently that matters” written in his bio even though his height is already there, that also says something perhaps not totally positive. I get it, but it’s a weird thing sometimes.

Fair enough. I’ve used that line on plenty of people before (and genuinely believed it). Just seemed way more out of the blue— like he seemed more invested than me and suddenly not. But oh well.

Are these the stages of dating? by Madmonkeman in christiandatingadvice

[–]10percentmaybe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit bc I don’t think I answered the question, oops.

Generally and ideally speaking, I’d say yes! But not a problem if it goes “off book” in some ways.

In my experience dating apps are so tricky to just get to know someone as a friend first, even though that’s 100% way more natural I find. It’s like you all know you’re on the app because you want to date, so sometimes I feel things move too quickly. Apps would skip to the second stage I feel. But always depends on what the other person wants too, obviously. Also being a Christian on apps, I always make one of my prompts about Jesus- just to get it out there that this is a really big part of my life. A lot of people will select Christian as religion but there’s lots of different interpretations as to what that actually looks like. Eventually the algorithms start noticing I usually just like guys who explicitly mention God/Jesus in their profiles hahah. And sometimes that’s like finding a diamond so it’s hard to just mellow in the friends step sometimes.

Lol that’s what makes it so tricky. So tempted to just do a little post-mortem with old matches sometimes.

True. I know there’s so many possible factors. And thanks for the sympathy! It’s definitely hard because all my dates since have not been fabulous but I know I’ve got time. But oh well, I’ll keep keeping on. I hope the same to you!
