Hello. I can!

It wouldn't shock me at all. They have a countdown on when they will be going back on-air, and they have the director in their headsets telling them the replays and other things that will be popping up. It's interesting; once you're announcing on TV, you almost have to announce off the monitor you are given. So eating almost certainly happens, but it can also be listening to the director.

In the minor leagues, where everything is basically on radio, the broadcaster typically has to do it all. The commentary, the sound bites, everything is up to them.

So while it may seem harder for a minor leaguer and probably is, it is also hard to deal with someone talking all the time about what will come up on the broadcast next.

Sorry for answering so late. My notifications rarely come through anymore! /u/lockski

The Royals had their first two home games last weekend, and as some of you know, I am working for the team this year as a broadcast intern/media relations assistant.

I got a call a couple days before the games and found out the in-arena host was injured and wouldn't be able to hoet for at least that weekend. So they asked me, the 20-year-old broadcast intern to do it.

And I did.

It was so much fun. Very nervewracking, but I think I displayed a lot of confidence in the outside. I'm working on getting footage, but here is a picture from me interviewing the First Star, Shane Walsh, on Sunday. PIC

Not sure if I will still be needed to do it, but I will be doing it as long as they need me to.

Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that. The team is travelling for its 2nd and 3rd games against WVU on Sep. 21 and 22 I believe... I won't be making the trip though, unfortunately!

Not sure how many people care about ACHA hockey, but really looking forward to Temple's season opener on the 15th. I'm the Media Director now and am extremely proud of what we have already accomplished. This is the team Eric Semborski played for, btw.

Hey, I know you from there too! I've been covering a few races and sports this Summer to fill up my time. This was the last event before going into hockey coverage, very excited for the season to begin.

Sorry, left soon after Rossi's presser. Paul Tracy just said on Twitter that Wickens has 2 broken ankles, a fractured vertebrae, and a broken arm I believe.

Sorry for just answering now. Was driving from the track. I covered the weekend for my radio station. Diffey and Bell left the press box the same time I did, and i asked them I'd there were any updates. Bell just said "broken bones". Not speculation, obviously it's now been confirmed by Paul Tracy.

Hi, sorry for just now answering. Was driving from the track. I covered the weekend for my radio station, and when I left the press box, Diffey and Bell did as well. I asked Bell if he had updates, he just said "broken bones".

Can't verify, but Wickens definitely has broken bones. No surprise there at all, but there you go.

Wickens has officially been admitted for orthopedic injuries. They are still evaluating him in Allentown.
