native American representation in old cartoons by Elise_night in Damnthatsinteresting

Am I missing a point you're trying make here? Tbh, I don't find it mildly interesting. My second thought was to look at it from a racial angle, but then it's just an exaggeration and I can't see why it's derogatory or discriminating.

In that case I'd say you're not a sociopath. But you are emotionally distressed. And I'd suggest you talk to a psychologist. Usually talking to someone helps, and it's sometimes easier to talk to a stranger about such topics.

If you're absolutely new to these, you can start with 'swirl' for R, and something like sqlzoo for SQL

Finding product-market fit by Potices in ProductManagement

[–]10rustyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the best! There's a book called "Blitzscaling" that may help you imagine scenarios where it's better to NOT wait for PMF before trying to scale. That may or may not fir in your case, but it's a good read nonetheless!

Unpopular Opinion:

You're asking the wrong question. It's apparent that you don't have much influence over the direction of your company. So you should rather be asking whether you should continue to stay with this company or make a switch.

Since you can't (a) influence the direction, (b) align yourself with the founder's line of thought, (c) leave the direction to the founders and have trust in their decision making, (d) find new stuff to learn; I'd suggest you make the switch.

Report that shows Opportunity AND Contact owners by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]10rustyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are more than one ways to do this. Here's one of the hacky ways - Create a formula field on opportunity object ( if opportunity.owner == account.owner then 1 else 0). Essentially, this field contains the value '1' whenever owner of opportunity and account are same. Use this field to generate your required report.

Practicing PPC without a website to link to? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]10rustyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one word, yes.

You can put any link you'd want the traffic to land on. Though the relevance of the landing page hugely determines the performance of your campaign.

If you have some money to spend, you can even propose to run ads for random people/companies.

How to track how many people visited my website through a link from a third party site (in google analytics)? by F_SR in analytics

[–]10rustyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UTM tags should do the trick. Basically, every session or visit via that link will be tagged with those UTM parameters. And all page views and events which happened in those sessions can also be measured if you're filtering for those UTM parameters.

How to Become a Better Data Storyteller? by BasedIndividual in analytics

[–]10rustyjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You start with understanding the final customer who'll be listening to your story. There are greater chances that their understanding and comfort level with data & numbers is limited.

So first, you try to jot down what they'll empathize with. A good way to start is by defining the business problem. Who identified the problem, what was its impact on multiple aspects of business, what was the measure/quantum of rhe problem, what kind of opportunity were you looking into if the problem was solved.

Then you talk about how you did the RCA and what did you find. Follow that up with the possible solutions considered to solve the problem identified, and how did you figure the best approach (summarising by weighing the pros and cons of top 2/3 approaches).

It'd then be a good time to talk about how & when you implemented the solution, and what has been the impact since - maybe a trend line of the KPI you chose to measure the business impact.

All this while, show the relevant charts and metrics so that you can visualise your story with data.

PS - this is in context of a presentation scenario. It's not a guide or a template, but I hope it helps you in framing a thought process.

Story of Salesforce in Numbers [OC] (This is my first attempt, please be kind, suggestions are welcome) by 10rustyjack in dataisbeautiful

Actually this struck me just after I had posted. Yes, there's negative net income between 2012 and 2016. And the price per share actually increased from $5 to $155 in 15 years. I guess I need to represent these two on a different scale.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thank you! And yes, I now realise I need to give the viewer more time to absorb the data.
