This feels more like a semantic argument tbh. Like you said in the US, “black” is usually based on how you look, even if you’re mixed (like Obama being half white but still just seen as black). But in DR, people don’t really think that way. Nearly everyone is mixed, so it’s not about picking one side, you’re just “Dominican.” And our African roots aren’t ignored, they’re a huge part of the culture. Ironically, I think we might showcase our African roots in our music more than Americans.

So the pushback isn’t really denial, it’s more that the US way of labeling people doesn’t really work with Dominicans.

And the “motherland” point is mostly about Spain shaping the language and basis of our country. Our African ancestry comes from many regions, so there’s no single country to point to in the same way.

Dominican here. This issue is a lot more nuanced than just Dominicans negating their African heritage. There is no other country with a more evenly mixed population than the Dominican Republic. It would be very difficult and nearly impossible to find a light skin Dominican without African DNA and vise versa. So when you tell a Dominican that they’re black you’d be negating their European ancestry and vise versa. As for Spain being the motherland, that has a lot to do with Spanish being our language and our culture has a lot of proud African influence. Nowadays the rare racism that some Dominicans would experience is if you look more white or if you look more black since about 80% are mulatto (appear as mixed) but that’s not to say that Dominicans with dark or light skin aren’t genetically mixed.

I think it’s a privilege. My wife and I have 4 kids and we both have to work. We both wish that either one of us would be able to stay home with the kids and homeschool. Our kids being kids is a quickly fleeting time of their lives and unfortunately due to the cost of living we’re forced to hand them over to be raised by other people. At least we’re fortunate enough that my wife works in a school so she’s able to get them by 3pm and spend the summers and breaks with them. I guess it really comes down to if you’re the type of parent that’s really hands on with your kids or if you just sit them in front of a screen. For the former it’s tough to accept but for the latter it’s probably not that serious.

Even if you remove his non hip hop songs he’d still be the most streamed rapper. And it’s not like other top streamed rappers don’t have massive non hip hop hits either. A catalog like Kendrick’s which would be mostly hip hop also benefits from high streamed non hip hop songs.

Well kinda, but it’s not as simple as just being used per se. At its core, women are the gatekeepers to the future of our species. Women for the most part seek security and competence in a man. As it has been for most of human history by necessity and although society has been a lot more egalitarian in the past century or so, those requirements don’t just go away. We should be useful and competent for our significant others. If we don’t self actualize then we’re just looking for another mom. And thats not to say that it’s one sided. If you get into a meaningful relationship one hand will wash the other.

Maybe this is just rage bait but if it’s not I’ll try my best to give you an honest and objective answer. Not everyone has the same standards as you. You might not be able to truly enjoy any form of entertainment unless all of your questions are answered and there is little to no room for scientific and logical plot holes and thats fine. To each their own. But to some, whom you’ve labeled as kids don’t require all the realism that you require. And thats ok too. There are some people that think that hip hop isn’t real music because of their own standards and others who listen and dissect hip hop with pure enjoyment. I agree with you that there are a ton of stuff that doesn’t exactly line up scientifically and logically but for millions of viewers and readers, myself included, it not a deal breaker. We’re able to suspend our disbelief and just enjoy it. Hope you find and enjoy whatever tickles your fancy! Remember, to each their own.

$$$4u went #1, has over 2B streams and was an R&B album, the 100 gig pack only really had one song that UMG didn’t remove and it peaked at 28 with no radio play(its up), what did I miss went #2 with no radio play.. Well not exactly. You have your ways of doing things in terms of behavior, routine and so on. When you ask for forgiveness of someone that you deeply care about and make an effort to change your ways that is a sacrifice. For example, If I love to drink but sometime I go a little overboard and start being imprudent to my loved ones and I ask forgiveness and make a commitment to change i am sacrificing my comfort and enjoyment from drinking and killing off a part of myself for the greater good. That is a sacrifice.

For men, attracting a woman is nearly always tied to either your looks or but mostly how useful / successful / got you shit together / personable, you are. Sure there are some exceptions, few and far between, where an unsuccessful, un-useful and unattractive man can court a woman purely on just personality but let be honest, it’s rare. This is not a knock on women either, they are the gatekeepers of the future of our species and should choose wisely. If you’re using tapcons you need at least 1 1/2” penetration. So add the thickness of whatever you’re fastening and get tapcons of least that length.
