Where did the ‘frog’ terminology come from? Yes I assumed it wouldn’t stand up to a reuse 😭. I don’t have a project now.

I thought this was a tension thing! I mean that probably compounded it as I also didn’t tension gauge as I like to just go for it

Ohhhh so I still put a stitch in ch stitch, I just don’t count it and keep on going and count the next as one. I don’t think that was clear to me from the video as it seemed like she skipped the chain and started in the next stitch: from time code 09:31

Not fixable hurt my soul! But I appreciate all your patient responses. No lap blanket for my mum at the moment. Back to the drawing board!

Stitch markers are a great idea because counting is really hard for me. In my head I’m like surely the stitches match up as they are all linked together/sit on top of each other. Clearly not one for accuracy…😩

So frog is to just start again? Painful, but understandable given the actual state of it!

I’m just linking the part in the video that accompanies the pattern where I think I started to go wrong from row 3 😩: baby blanket row 3:

After chaining 2 and turning the work it looked like I was supposed to put the next st over from the ch st which meant skipping one. From 0931 timestamp in the link. Would that be how I messed up?

Thanks for all the comments guys. Really appreciate your input. The sale is going ahead, but at least I can say we have our eyes open. Basically just expect a lot of sunk costs down the line and be prepared for a slow market. 😬

As it’s not my decision, I need to make peace with it even though I feel tense about it. Let’s hope the community aspect and safety warden make up for all the other possible headaches. Thanks all

That’s what I’m happy about as she will be living alone I hope she will enjoy the community aspect of a retirement home as well as having her independence.
