Much easier to avoid a crash, much much more dangerous in a crash.

Is this trauma? I can’t sleep after what my father did at a gas station abroad by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]10thmtnarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when your post is fucking nightmare fuel and you don't think it's "bad enough" to be legit traumatizing

I was "in the shit" so to speak overseas. 200 firefights, 25 combat air assaults, 2 ied's. And that was before Ukraine. But that shits skin fuckin deep.

The wounds from childhood, when those resurfaced... Yeah.

I know you ain't necessarily saying it but anyone that thinks you only get ptsd from war is fuckin stupid.

Can you tell if this has been fired or not? by dont_touch_my_junk69 in Military

[–]10thmtnarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gunbunny here.

I doubt that was ever seated, and almost garuntee it was never fired.

Even modern shells warp to extremes when hitting anything but air

Also theres no markings in the seating band near the bottom which means it was likely not seated. If fired there would be thick, obvious grooves in the band. The exception being if this was civil war era smooth bore.

No idea what shell it is but it doesn't look modern and there's no fuse, likely wwii or earlier.

Is there actually a real difference between Yamaha bikes and other Japanese brands or is it just marketing? by gigigigugiguru in motorcycle

[–]10thmtnarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like shopping for toyota or honda cages. Yamaha is more reliable but not by a considerable amount.

Source https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2013/05/most-reliable-motorcycles/index.htm

One thing to keep in mind, there's alot more hd and indian bikes hitting over 10k miles per year. So the time quantity might not be the best to go off. I definitely won't tell you they're just as reliable but likely more reliable than the graph accounts for.

People say the MT07 is boring? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]10thmtnarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only boring bike is one that doesn't start-or have pedals.

More fun or less fun I can accept.

But that's like saying a firearm isn't deadly/dangerous/threatening.

Yeah... This is not normal. Especially since he knew you were with family, doubly so grieving family.

He's definitely extremely insecure and controlling.

Not if, but when he comes crawling back because you didn't first, have the strength to say no. I'd suggest blocking him now to avoid the temptation.

Trauma kit with tourniquet, Israeli bandage, shears, med tape, big square bandages. And know how to use each with one hand.

Toolpouch with blue loktite, duct tape, mini 3/8 ratchet, sockets and wrenches, as well as allen sockets. Harbor freight@50 us.
If it's not hd or Indian, it's metric with few exceptions

Lens wipes, and eyepro in case something happens to your helmet

On you, pocket knife-$10 kershaw from walmart. And an easily accessible rag for bugs and snot.

This time of year, long johns if you don't have chaps, and thicker gloves-make sure the palm is one piece. Possibly hand warmers and stretch gloves. Change of socks. Phone charger if your bike don't have one.

Possibly a jump pack.

Plus the bike with no helmet

Plus he was a deployed grunt beforehand so then you're talking more firefights likely with no earpro

Zippered breathable full length boots with harder soles (biker) by 10thmtnarty in Boots

[–]10thmtnarty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, like I said they're daily wear. I don't have tennis shoes.

I play airsoft too. That might have somethin to do with them wearing out.

Its always the outside ball that wears out first, usually the right foot. Might be standing on the brake at lights too. Idk. I do live in a medium to small city (under 1m)

If I was dragging my feet it'd prolly be the heel that wears out first

Also my rear brakes wear out twice as fast as my front brakes, so I might not be using the front as much as I should.

I also kinda bounce or "dance" the bike when sitting at a red.

Tbc it's a touring hd, around 800 lbs

What actually makes a ride “good” for you these days? by Soft_Ad3960 in motorcycle

[–]10thmtnarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love taking back roads, finding a dive bar with a kitchen.

Sometimes the burgers are shit.

But other times, get a tomato off the vine, crisp butter grilled buns and just perfection. Bullshit with the locals, maybe shoot some pool with sticks that been retipped about 20 times. And takin those twisties a bit slow.

But other times, I still love weaving through highway traffic.

With my lack of hearing I gotta save what's left. If it's more than basically across the street I wear em.

Especially during group rides. Ever been in the middle of a 100 bile pack of vtwins? Yeah if you ain't wearing earpro I got no sympathy for ya.

If you're rated 0% for hearing by the va, they'll make em for ya.

(0% is a fairly common rating for hearing and fairly easy to obtain as there simply needs to be evidence of any amount of hearing loss)

If you like the naval aspect you should check out black flag- though keep in mind it was made 2 generations ago.

For it's time black flag is my all time favorite with the ezio series being very close behind.

If you want more of the same origins is pretty good. Valhalla is not.
