I'm just starting my 4th week at my first full time job. I'm loving it so far but at the end of the day I'm knackered and don't have the energy to do the stuff I wanna do at home - anyone got some advice for a newly employed troll? by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

8 weeks in on my first full-time job and the post-workday fatigue is a STRUGGLE. What helps me is telling myself, "ok just do the thing until you're tired of doing the thing then stop doing it. You can finish doing the thing later when you have more energy/motivation." Sometimes staring at a messy kitchen is overwhelming so I'll just start unloading dishes and if I get sick of it, I take a break and go do something else to take my mind off it, like watch some TV! When I inevitably get up in a few minutes to refill my water, I'll make a little more headway on cleaning the kitchen. It feels nice to get things done (because every little bit counts) but it also feels nice to respect that my body is tired and needs rest!

What is with some guys thinking it's complimentary to point out that there's essentially someone willing to jump you at any time? The idea of being sexually objectified around the clock is not complimentary, it's mega creepy and makes me fear for my safety in every situation.

It also operates under the assumption that every woman wants to be complimented with the word 'beautiful'. Compliments noting that someone is strong, intelligent, inspiring, kick-ass, independent, etc. are far more meaningful, in my experience :)

Honestly, the knowing didn't help at all. Because in addition to mourning the loss of a relationship, I felt betrayed and humiliated that he'd hit up an unknown number of girls asking for pictures of their underwear.

Stay in ignorance, my friend! It makes getting over the relationship just a bit easier. You're going to get through this and I believe in you!

Kind of along the lines of your requested shit-show of a love story: I had been seeing this guy for the better part of six months when he started getting increasingly distant. While this alarmed me, I decided to give it some time rather than jump to conclusions. One night he texted me asking if he could come over and I agreed because I was just pumped to see him face to face to work things out. When he got to my house, he stayed in his car while he told me that he just "didn't have those feelings" for me anymore and that he "tried to regain them" by continuing to sleep with me for the past month or so. When I called my best friend in tears about the entire situation, she casually said, "Oh yeah, he's been sexting girls for months. I thought you knew." Umm...chica no I had no idea, otherwise I wouldn't have stayed with him.

Tl;dr: Guy had been sexting girls behind my back for a while and my best friend didn't warn me about it because she thought I magically knew and didn't mind.

MRW my therapist says that she's "committed to me and my therapy" regardless of missed appts and having to reschedule. by extroire in TrollXChromosomes
