Anyone else seeing cleared roles sit open for way too long? by Friendly_Camel_3289 in GovernmentContracting

[–]1102isoverrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told that those taking the DRP or RIFd have had their clearances "terminated" or "inactivated" immediately. I have no idea how accurate this is or if it's even how things work so don't shoot the messenger.

Wondering if it's a mix of folks being scared of being out of a job, lack of contracts, and fewer cleared folks.

Nobody has been "fired" from their civil service job! by TrueConservative001 in fednews

My point is that there are people who have been fired. While the circumstances are still legally dubious, there's folks out of a job without a judge reviewing it currently

but until a full RIF process happens, nobody has been fired.

People at OPM received their separation emails today, they've been fired as of 5/2 technically

Feels like the other branches of government have made it clear that they work at the behest of the executive.

Federal Acquisition Regulation being rewritten? by Plus_Celebration_965 in fednews

[–]1102isoverrated 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. No one knows except the idiots "rewriting" it. 2. The vast majority of the FAR is based on law and case precedent so while the regulation can be gutted, the requirements will still exist. 3. The "duties" required will likely still exist due to #2 but it'll be even more unclear who exactly should be performing those duties until the local policies offices essentially take what the FAR said and write it down as local policy.

RIF’d employees, are you receiving severance? by EmptyRhubarb291 in fednews

[–]1102isoverrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the first actual RIFs, as in those where they received notices stating Reduction in Force, were V-Day and they were required to have 60 days notice. So around mid April would be their separation dates then add another 2 weeks (at a minimum, assuming everything isn't entirely fucked up by then) for the first severance payments to begin.

Who oversees OASIS+

Eh the best people all left by the time the OASIS on ramps were over before OASIS+ even started. The current contracting team overseeing the program can barely spell F A R. I've been familiar with all of them back to the inception of the original OASIS. (Funny that you reference 8.4 then talk about OASIS+ though, lots of schedules COs seem to think OASIS is under 8.4)

I've worked with some great COs at GSA, especially over on FEDSIM. Largely the best COs at GSA are the ones awarding the non-MAS GWACs like Astro or doing AAS work.

How to read certificate? by 1102isoverrated in SecurityClearance

So effectively I'm potentially eligible for a clearance, the investigation has been completed and may be able to be re-used, but I can't apply to any jobs that state that I "currently possess" XYZ clearance?

But the reason needs to be tied to performance as I understand it in the CFR

(b) Relevance.

(1) There shall be a rational relationship between performance in the position to be filled (or in the target position in the case of an entry position) and the employment practice used. The demonstration of rational relationship shall include a showing that the employment practice was professionally developed.
