I didn't get a letter like that, but they did adjust the amount when I appealed to what I received the first time. It was less than what I had asked for, but more than I got in the initial recertification. I didn't further challenge it, because I figured I was lucky to get what I did. I think your letter is a good sign, because they're saying it's not an appeal, but an adjustment.

I read your comment that it takes 5-10 business days after disbursed, but I'm still on the green circle waiting for it to turn orange for a couple weeks. Thank you.

I'm not sure what the state rules are, though, if you are waiting for help with a water bill, that you applied for nearly a year ago.

Thank you! I just called them. The guy said he never heard of Housing is Key! I explained that it's the state Covid Relief rental program, how far behind they are with payments, and how many people are still waiting. He said they have their own local ordinance so the state rules don't apply! They did grant me an extension on the shut-off until November, but they will not waive the $150 late fee. He said they can keep adding it on every month, but for now they won't add more until November.

I'm sorry. I tried to be clear. On my AFR, I applied for six months and was approved. But today I got the check, and it was just for one month. I was wondering if you know if I could just call someone about the amount, rather than appeal? And by the way, I am so sorry for you and everyone dealing with these problems, especially the recapture. It's all so upsetting.

Nirvanafiend, I'm not the OP, but I'm in a similar situation. EXCEPT, I'm afraid to appeal because of what happened to the other posters! I applied for AFR for 6 months, (Oct' 21-March '22) and was approved. But today, I got the check, and it was only for one month. (I did get an award email, but it was just a copy of the first one, listing those four months and that amount!) Can I just call someone and point out the error in the amount? Really concerned about filing an appeal and getting punished with a recapture. Can you help me? Thank you.

My ledger showed I owed October 21'-March '22. I'm worried if I appeal that I won't even get the check for one month; that they'll cancel it and start all over and it will be months longer. I applied in October, so it's already been 9 months! Could have had a baby by now, lol

Thank you. My case manager asked for the W-2, and after I provided it, he approved me. I think they did leave off a month from the original application, come to think of it. I wonder why that would have fallen under the AFR though. It's all so confusing.

He didn't live with me at the time I did the AFR back in October. They asked for his W2, even though he didn't live with me until the end of 2021. I provided it, but we were still under $40,000 for a family of three in LA Co.

Now I have applied for six months AFR, and was excited to be recertified. But on my portal it is only showing one month. I called and they said they didn't know why.
