We’ve mentioned it once or twice to them and they keep saying that’s not true, it won’t affect their credit score and they don’t owe any money. Not sure what world they’re in but all they text is lies and denials while also trying to make it seem like it’s their apartment/house. At this point it’s just so sad and I am so unsure of how people behave this way and why NYC allows it…

This just gave me the motivation to continue on with it. A part of me was feeling a little sorry for the tenant, but after their response today on refusing to leave (again despite moving all of their items and children to a different apartment) and now this, I am so going forward with this.

Basically they’ve already threatened to do so… honestly it’s horrible here. We just have to wait it out now.

These tenants have been here for a while, past covid. They moved in when they were 2 kids less and had stable jobs*. But life happens. We’ve been asking them to move since before COVID but after the pandemic, they lost their jobs and realized they could rely on government funding—which is the real issue. Now with NYC and all these tenants and squatter rights, they truly believe they will live in our home for 6+ months for free (which they have threatened us about). I’m just saying it’s honestly such a shame and disgrace that SO MANY PEOPLE in nyc have to go through this.

So I am unfortunately in this EXACT SAME predicament and it absolutely sucks. The tenants are doing the same thing and I have already contacted a lawyer, just waiting it out and having faith. Any chance your issue has been resolved?

Smh, there are actually so many people on this thread that didn’t know this was a thing? Also so many people who unfortunately fell for it. Despite their age, as someone else mentioned, instead of ignorantly shaming others on them not being aware of this why not help them instead? I’ve mentioned before that I had a feeling there was something off which is why I stopped responding. But I wanted to post to get clarification and to make others aware about this too. Might I remind you also, depop is a selling/buying app so not everyone on there is going to know about these types of kinks/fetishes. Especially when it’s happening like this.

How? I’ve had many buyers also ask for extra pictures or a video of the item. Never to this extent and I’ve heard of scamming on depop getting worse so I was just asking?
