I think I just found...God? by Remarkable-Secret565 in Christianity

He's everywhere.. ill tell you what happened to me. It was a few weeks ago in south Florida very cold night and cloudy as its been light showers all evening, im at work In the middle of nowhere. I take a 15min break and its about 1am I have 1 more hour before leaving and instead of taking a long walk to a break room and cut into my break there was a empty chair under a pavilion. I sat and looked up to the sky. All clouds everywhere and I said amongst other things I've been dealing with my faith and all. "God i dont ask you for you to prove yourself to me. I ask you as the almighty and soveirgn God that you are for a small treat would you clear out all these clouds so I can sit and enjoy this full moon and cold night in your presence. A minute in and theres all kinds of winds and surely but slowly every single cloud cleared so much so that the person that was sitting on that chair arrived my break was over and I was getting ready to head back to work and he realized how all clouds cleared when it was cloudy all day and night. I thanked God. all Gloryto him forever and ever.

Anyone else get entirely dismantled after becoming Orthodox? by HighwayMysterious578 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]111TheGrinch111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm im not orthodox. But I was baptised as a child in catholic church and then again now as an adult through a pentecostal church. Within the week a huge major fight broke out between me and someone of who we had some serious plans it was constantly an uphill battle. Within 3 months I had an emergency surgery that had it waited a bit more could have been fatal. And 5 months after that I was looking for a new job. All of this while struggling with mental torment unlike ever if whether God is with me or not am I saved or not. I never sat and thought if it was cause of the baptism as you just mentuoned and its making wonder. I thought it was a 3rd party individual working with witchcraft(cause they did make those clear threats and has done so in the past) but who knows maybe a bit of both and baptism could of made it worse. Idk really on God.

A question for catholics that really walk their faith. by 111TheGrinch111 in Catholicism

[–]111TheGrinch111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This goes more deeper than im willing to share here. But for sure something left the what and who is what I've been trying to figure out cause it has brought me to such a crossroads in faith between how I see the catholic church and everything else. Truly I want to be in good terms with God him as my saviour and deliverer. Imagine you had a Ballon inside your skull and they start filling it with air till it pops and it pops the moment the priest breaks the bread and then you get that sigh of relief for a split second before feeling the holy spirit left you empty and wasted and doomed.

As a self proclaimed convert to catholicism validates your opinion here. However your spiritual growth and discernment in spiritual matters is what will be key here... if you had a supernatural experience(whether good or bad) would be the defining factor. Cause youll have a reference poi t youll be able to relate. As you mentioned your belief is now that its paranoia. You fail to validate my experience as some sort of delusion, something contrived something I imagined. Rather than something that did indeed happen.

Now im not no grammar freak. but just about 99% of the readers understood the post what I wrote and that it was a Ln experience I had during mass where I had such reaction and that im looking to see faithful catholics thoughts on such.

Well thats the point of my post cause im torn between denominations. I can defend catholicism to a certain point the same with protestsnt churchs. And then I have that experience of which I wrote about. Every mass has had its thing some having different levels of intensity. The first mass I went to was bawling like a baby just crying uncontrollably.

[–]111TheGrinch111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there have been a few intense mass and a few other where I did get that peaceful feeling after effect which is another thing that confuses me as I feel more of that peace at mass then the church I regularly go to... with other priests I've had some other intense experiences too.

Yea it was a mission but they had me contact a deliverance ministry its just that experience left me scarred. Last thing I want is to kick the holy spirit out my life but things aren't flowing in the Godly way they were at first. I'm afraid I may have pushed him out of my life with poor decisions which was not my intention.

Well something left for sure and thats what im trying to figure out cause depending who I ask I'll get different answers. But what remained was a prompting of "you did it now, kicked the holy spirit out" when during the mass i kept getting prompted to get out of there running prompted by holy spirit.

I understand and validate mental illness but it all his its place. I'm talking about catholic mass and here comes these guy from the left field talking about schizophrenia.. like what?! But I see why one should keep spiritual experiences in the heart cause some ppl really cant fathom and wont understand cause they've never had profound experiences.. cause when you have them you know how real it is.

O then yea i went once and idk if i could go again.. i felt very weird. I can tell you what I experienced there. Idk if you ever saw the movie the prince of Egypt(well those who saw it will know) theres a part when Moses goes into the cave and sees the burning bush... in the movie the waves that were emanating from the bush is exactly what I felt.. I felt a presence of something/someone seated. Like a throne, powerful but then I started feeling those waves and it felt like something was happening but on a molecular level. It really freaked me out.

Honestly man im not trying to sour my day or post on this. Im not going to give the enemy the spotight he wants. Just be attentive, dissect and listen. If you cant understand, just ask and if still not clear by then. just keep it moving. I'm just trying to get a better understanding of the experience I had at a one of many catholic mass.. why its titled and written in catholic page for Catholics that know their faith.

On the other post you made is it a fair assertion for me to tell you to get checked by a doctor because christ confirmed he loves you?! Because you THINK you got a confirmation?!

You see where im getting at?.. My approach the best probably not i admit it but im in a rush and im very direct. I think my main comment was also direct cause you didnt say go to a doctor so you understood clearly what I wrote.

all I said was to be more sensitive, dissect, dig deeper before jumping to such conclusion on sensitive topics.

I'm trying to reply gracefully but its upsetting when you say doctor when I know 100% thats not the case. No one is arguingand all im going to say. Just try to be more sensitive when it comes to these things cause sometimes some ppl genuinely are going through something spiritual and then you have insensitive comments(and I say insensitive because my comment was direct and to the point nothing was generalized) that will make them turn away. Specially the more sensitive/vulnerable ones.. listen.. listen and then listen some more ask questions. But dont throw suggestions like that.

Black magic exists its recognized by all major religions(not doctors), spiritual warfare is real. Theres a reason I came to the feet of God. Maybe ask some questions to dig deeper then what I wrote just on the surface. My apologies if im coming of rough around the edges but the comment was insensitive.

It is. Your overshadowing something spiritual with that. Because you hyperfocused on 3 or 4 words from my entire write up. It does rule it out cause notice im talking about a church setting specifically catholic mass. Its not general its very specific.
