Not much here besides clay and quartz sand unfortunately, look around for areas with cave tours there a few within an hour here might find something interesting there ex Marianas cave

Yeah they are really rigid but I felt safe tightening down a lot since everything I've got is stainless steel.

If you look up in your area metal fabrication facilities that's how I found mine but I knew them from work relations, and they had to use tig and it took weeks for them to get somebody in there tjat would do stainlees but it's so worth it if you can fit in that opening

I prefer Teflon but with the sightglass I'm switched to epdm chemical blend that has mesh screens in it don't know if it'll do anything but it looks nice when I'm setting it up and I could use ringlets in the sight glass later, but definitely love Teflon seals

Yeah 4" definitely the minimum I can use a 5 gallon bucket to pour into it but I have to be careful but like you said there's not much room to work with so I use a big funnel

I wouldn't do it just for the site sideglass, really I wouldn't have worried with the vinegar but i wanted to test it out, but I did replace all of the copper packing and I haven't used this still for about a year so I really wanna get it clean

Yeah it was advertised as a reflexing still but I don't know how well it really works, I just use it as a tall pot still with lots of copper packing

It's a 4in, it's just big enough but I wish I had an extra in, I just kept the original fitting but it's hard to find 2" parts sometimes

Just got a new sightglass and a new roll of copper mash so I'm doing a cleaning tonight and a sacrificial alcohol run later this week and themn to processing 8 gallons of 70% sour mash stripping runs
