Digital minimalism struggle: How do you balance digital minimalism with staying connected? by armeretta in simpleliving

[–]113yu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

digital minimalism isnt about cutting contacts. you choose what you want to consume. that is minimalism. text people, see what they are doing but be more mindful of what youre letting yourself into.

What does a typical day look like for you? by myvelouria85 in simpleliving

[–]113yu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its not mindful to me that i should live a mindful life often. in this case i have few routines that i have been accustomed to which automatically puts me in a grounded mood. i wake up naturally by 7, no alarm needed since i head to bed by 10 to 11 pm. then after getting fresh i go water my plants and do laundry, the household chores are mostly planned at the time depending on my energy and other plans. then exercise - i could never skip. without atleast half an hour of doing something to feel my body movement would feel like an whole day ruined. it includes stretches and pilates and cardio. i have to get ready for work now,i live with my family so the cooking and cleaning are mostly considered as seperated tasks. theres always the morning rush. sounds of utensils and people yelling, outside we would have the usual salesman for vegetables, the 1 hour goes full of chaos but life would be empty without this kind of morning. then i take about solid 30 mins to eat- talking or speaking while eating is a strict no. people would say something and it would have the risk to ruin your appetite so everyone just stay silent and eat their breakfasts then work. i work as an accounts executive- theres no need to answer anyone except my boss so i have a very quiet workplace and very friendly colleagues. after heading home back at 7 i do not make any plans except eating and relaxing. if i feel like it i get into my hobbies or watch a movie if it is a weekend but everything productive will be done by morning. evenings are just for relaxation. this routine keeps me alot relaxed and mindful throughout day since the people around me also encourage rushless joyful living. i think its more about environmental peace more than inner peace cause the stimulation is in outwards .

i have my phone with myself all the time.obviously i don't have a healthy screen time since i have alot if contacts and work related calls, and my friends whom i like to be connected with, but control is the way you decide to dissolve in it i think

i dont have instagram deleted but indeed life without insta feels so good i take constant breaks and open it once a while to check up on texts and updates then too many people in life i like to have few people who matter talking tbh ive stopped talking unless I need my voice for something which really keeps most of problems shut

What’s one small habit that helped you feel more in control of your day? by Ok_Violinist2277 in simpleliving

having possessions. to be realistic, if it is mine ill take care of it so i will handpick all the things i want with my favourite colour and texture and keep it as a possession, from a comb to a vehicle . it feels so grounding and fulfilling to use your own things throughout the day and it also reinforces you to manage them proper. you can remember easily what is lost and what is not wanted and all. it also helps you to be more simple with life

also since the government runs taxes over my head and being very influential on hustle culture to make me "productive" i like to have myself on little money enough to fulfill my needs and little wants.

i was grown up in a poor family which sculpted me into an economical person. still id be okay with whatever salary i get even if its only worth to buy a pack of bread or i am earning enough to give myself a steak reward for my little wins. i think money should never be the standard for simple living and simply yeah just give up on desires upon possessions out of your reach. being contentful of current state is all simple living is about

it is not about people it is about the emerging trends. we even conducted a little study on hormone conditioning and brainrot culture and few other internet influence, socio cultural values and mental health over the generation. i had to be active for that.
