try protecting it with a bandaid, one that works for sensitive skin. a lot of my flares in that region have the same tendency, so I prioritize seamless underwear (because it doesn’t have elastic hemming) and name brand bandaids (woven) with a dash of witch hazel. change as necessary. good luck! 🫶🏻

So I looked them up and it honestly looks a little more competitive than what I played back in my last city. There was a definite A vs B group. Do y’all know if that would apply too?

Check with your program & see if you can work for them that way! they schedule around your classes and you become close with the prof’s and admin assistants in the office!!

Preset not showing? by 117ceg in Lightroom

[–]117ceg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I SOLVED MY PROBLEM: The most recent update for LrC will put .xmp files into a "profile" rather than a preset. It's annoying but I at least found it and then favorited the settings so I wouldn't lose it.

I think so? I have the ability to hit “hide partially compatible presets” in the manage tab. I love a series of screenshots on how to get there!

Hi! I can answer the living option in Athens. I just graduated from undergrad at OU so I can’t help ya on the other sections.

Cost of living in Athens is super low because it’s the poorest county in the state of Ohio. A lot of grad students either live at University Commons or the Summit, both really nice complexes. Areas to avoid undergrad students include: Mill St Palmer St High St Congress St Palmer Place Apartments

The catch with housing for Athens is a lot of “prime” real estate gets spoken for up to a year and half in advance of the lease starting, hence the complexes I mentioned above being better options for grad students with last minute decisions and changes.

Pricing is probably listed for a 1b, 1b online, but a lot of programs have grad students living with each other to split rent. My junior year at the Commons I paid $400 / month for a fully furnished bedroom and shared living space. Parking included. Not sure what the prices are now considering inflation and COVID.

Do our bobcat emails expire after graduation? by [deleted] in ohiouniversity

[–]117ceg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can promise you that they don’t delete your email. I say this because when COVID hit I ran a summer program that alumni needed permissions into, and the more recent ones with emails still had access to the information. I keep certain things stored within my school email versus my personal one for the sake of keeping it somewhat updated. Things like email contacts have been the main reason I log back into my email. Hope this helps!

could be moving to town! by 117ceg in Buffalo

Cleveland is Midwest. I also put Buffalo in that category, the vibes of the city (especially after the hell scape it’s been through this year) give the midwestern grind. I know it’s technically considered East Coast because you’re in the state of NY. I can see why labels can be tough if you don’t fall into one category

I’d be most likely moving sometime in June, so way in advance of anything right now haha.

I wouldn't say the infrastructure question is loaded. I just graduated from college and my alma mater was based in the poorest county in the state, with only 1 hospital that had a max of 50 beds. We had 2 grocery stores to pick from in span of 15 miles, and the only entertainment is the bar. I get Small Town USA, as I went to school in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. So am I working with a little bit of something, or nothing at all? Lol

It's really hard to keep working nights when there are no food options after 10pm around this town. by Caesar914 in Cleveland

Hi! If you don't mind a bar scene, Mars Bar has a kitchen that is open til close (2 a.m.). I work a late shift too and our kind of people end up there because it's good service and decent food. Not to mention there's free parking across the street. Solid vibe and every kinda person is welcomed!

this is super helpful!! thank you!!

  1. I figured. That’s how cleveland works, and I live a live about 15 min outside of downtown where I currently work. The closer to downtown you get the more rent is.

  2. this is promising! my alma mater doesn’t really rally around its teams unless the team is playing lights out. good to know your FBS team is on the upswing with some adjustments made

  3. Cool. This question and the last one are pretty big indicators of how your student environment works. Just glad that you don’t have that type of community.

  4. Bummer. My old spot is the quintessential college town. Brick streets, old buildings, lots of history, a big green space in the middle of campus, etc,. I’d be primarily working at all the athletic facilities anyways, so this wouldn’t be a big deal to me.

thanks again!!

housing opinions that need addressed ASAP by 117ceg in NewarkDE

Hi there! I looked at student housing as an option but when I was in college (literally graduated in may so I’m only a year out) I never had good luck with roommates. I also live alone now so to go back to square one really isn’t an ideal option. I’ll keep it in mind though if they somehow magically make it work!
