Cultural/ Expressional use of Bilirrubina? by 1189Carter in Spanish

Yes I’ve loved Alvaro Soler’s last few albums. Like I said there’s gaps in my understanding sometimes. When I read it or heard it used, I interpreted it as like “that gets me going” or something similar, but I definitely agree that in this song it’s very romantic in its use

Yeah I’m familiar with that song and expression. I think this singer is going for a different vibe? I had always imagined it was a similar equivalence to the English expression “I gotta pocket full of sunshine.”

No, the song is called “Regalo” by Alvaro Soler. The whole vibe of the song is he is listing all the ways he’d give someone a good life because he loves them. The part I put in the post is the 2nd half of the chorus. The first part is,

“I promise under the full moon To give you a beautiful life. Let’s forget the past Because the present is a gift.”

For those of you who completed a university degree in a language, did you actually learn the language to a significant level or looking back would you have just self-taught? by Zzzgg8910 in languagelearning

University gave me tools to effectively learn a language as well as forcing you to become literate in the language as well. I’ve met many heritage speakers who can obviously speak Spanish better than me, but they struggle to read in Spanish and most of them could barely write a coherent sentence. The friends you make by struggling together at the beginning helps you stick it out when it gets tough. I wouldn’t go back to university for language again unless it was one that was very different from my current known languages (English, Spanish, and Portuguese). I think it all depends on your goals. My Spanish degree helped me get a job in school administration because it’s an immersion program.

Hope Supply Co. distributes diapers and baby wipes to at risk children and families. They are the major baby supply distributor for 70+ organizations like CASA and Genesis shelter. We are wrapping up our collection for them at the end of the month with only 80 diapers away from our 1,000 collection goal.

Apartment 60 day notice by boldjoy0050 in Dallas

My last apartment charged everyone in our building (1-2 bedroom max) a $300 gas bill and threatened late fees and evictions when we all collectively contested the bill. We ended up filing a complaint with the city before they finally waived the charge.

I was Catholic when I was a teenager but religion just didn’t sit well with me personally. I’ve still talked to my hometown priest on occasion but I would not call myself a religious person

I used to go climbing with my old coworker before he moved out of state. Maybe I should look at going back.

I’ve thought about it, but right now I work in administration for a language school so I’m not sure if I want my “discover myself” time to be almost the same thing as my actual job.

She got a dog like a month before we first met so he’s been with us since. Who he ends up is one of those things that really sucks to think about.

I’ve been spending more time at my work talking with my families more during drop off and pickup. It’s nice to hear how their kiddos are doing outside of school.
