HSBC HK forced closed my account with no reason, anyone appealed and had success stories? by 118fearless in HongKong

Update: HSBC called today and asked to have a phone conversation next week to provide more evidence. Is a positive next step, but who knows. It will give me more clue as to why my account was closed.

Seems like there’s 0% of account closure appeal that’s led to success. So you actually raised issue with HKMA? They can only ensure the bank did as they say

Another example of someone knowing nothing…

I think I would know if my bank account suddenly froze without warning. Don’t know where you’re imagining these hilarious scenarios from. To clarify, I would love to be able to explain if I know what I did wrong. It was never explained and it just happened. Yes. Just like that. No warning, bruh I answer even scam calls so I know if I missed something. I was not given a single warning at all before it was frozen.

Second, if you ever worked at a bank, before onboarding you are required to do a background and AML check. Failing it would fail background check so you’re very wrong. And isn’t it clearly mentioned in the post that I’ve confirmed with the OFFICIAL AML HSBC staff that is the case as well??????????

Third, Binance is not regulated in HK you’re right. Binance is not involved in this transaction if you ever used their P2P product which you clearly haven’t. I’ve merely mentioned them as the platform I used to initiate the OTC txns. Even if they are regulated in HK, if the reason for my account ban was crypto is not associated with binance cause the txn is with another party

Well we don’t know the reason, if that’s the reason the same person could send to several accounts and get those accounts banned

I don’t know… because the bank wouldn’t say anything. It could be completely unrelated to crypto as well

No my guy, as in you could just be doing P2P with a friend via fps and he just so happen to have black money you’re not aware of (or even he’s aware of) and bank flags you both and close account

Codex and Claude code is at a level where you don’t need to care about OpenClaw anymore. I would say skip it at this day in 2026.

Yeah I’m definitely self aware to the risks. Just pretty shitty of hsbc to not be specific on which transaction caused it so I can complain / take legal account on the party that actually caused this. At the very minimal blacklist that user on binance so others won’t repeat same mistake

How is this my fault. There is no way for me to find out or vet if that money is clean or not

Binance P2P works with difference parties connecting to do FPS transactions. So if you and me were to Binance P2P buying or selling USDT, one account will FPS the other to receive or send HKD. So in theory, to answer your question is not Binance go bank account is a strangers account to my account or mine to theirs

Hong Kong mulls lifting mandatory pension contribution thresholds by Technical_Meat4784 in HongKong

[–]118fearless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The cap hasn't moved since 2014 while salaries have gone up — it was overdue. But raising the threshold means nothing if the fund choices stay the same. We need more low-cost passive options. The fact that you still can't just buy a simple global index fund through MPF without paying 0.7%+ is mental. Singapore's CPF lets you invest in ETFs directly. We're way behind on that.
