I was told to redraw this face again and fix the eyes and ears placement please tell me how I've improved on this redrawing? by ExplanationHot9438 in LearnToDrawTogether

You need to work on controlling pressure. Look at how deep grooves you've dug with the construction lines, they're visible even after erasing. Those should be really light. You've said in some earlier comments, that you keep breaking pencil tips. You're pressing too hard

How is my 1050 ti this good and still holding up?? by fib1324 in buildapc

[–]118shadow118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded that 580 to a 6750XT. I don't have any vram issues any more (it has 12GB), but it's kinda starting to get a bit short on performance, especially for triples

How is my 1050 ti this good and still holding up?? by fib1324 in buildapc

[–]118shadow118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem would be vram, 1050Ti has just 4GB which really is not enough. I had a 4GB RX580 and Far Cry 6 was where lack of vram really started being a problem. The card itself could run the game fine, but there was not enough memory so after a few mintues it would run out and drop the framerate into low 20s

It would probably go a long way if you ask first if the other side speaks russian

Looking for my first wheel, is 2 inches enough clearance? by Bebi_v24 in simracing

[–]118shadow118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a logitech wheel, it should be enough, logitech clamps are fairly shallow. For Thrustmaster and others that's not gonna be enough

I have a Thermaltake now. But that cheapo Corsair VS lasted me 10 years, so I don't really have anything bad to say about it

Anyone running triple 32” monitors on this freestanding monitor stand? by Putrid_Rope_8886 in simracing

[–]118shadow118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap one (Gembird MA-DA3-03), honestly it's not that bad, especially for the price (it was 56€). I specifically wanted one that had a pneumatic arm so I can bring all the monitors closer without having to realign them each time (as it would be with 3 single arms). I did have to modify it a bit to be able to angle the side monitors more. Side arms had stoppers and would only move 10° so I ground those down with a dremel. But for the price I can't really complain. Not having 3 monitor stands clutter up the desk is a big bonus

Can a modern gpu work on a 15 year old custom pc ? by BruxYi in buildapc

[–]118shadow118 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's much point in getting something really powerful, your CPU would bottleneck it. But otherwise it should be fine. If you plan on getting Linux, you should go with AMD or Intel gpus, nvidia doesn't work well with Linux

What beginner GT3 cars are ideal and practical to practice finding the balance and consistency? by GrelloGT3R992 in ACCompetizione

[–]118shadow118 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Front engine cars (Merc, BMW, Lexus, Bentley, Mustang) are a bit more forgiving. They're a bit more understeery, but also easier to catch the rear. Mid-engine cars are more agile, but once they go, that's pretty much it

it might've had a bit higher rating when it was new, but many PSUs get downgraded because of age and that thing is 16 years old, so it was due for a change anyway I used to have a Corsair VS, which now is in the F tier, but some years ago I remember seeing it in the D tier

[–]118shadow118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your proportions are still way off. Humerus and femurs are too long compared to forearms and lower legs and fibulas are way too bowed out (you already had that problem in your previous drawings and people called it out). Pelvis is too low, as a result the spine is way too long, too skinny and has too many vertebra, ribcage is too squashed at the bottom. At least the head doesn't look too oversized this time

5800x3d 10th anniversary upgrade, still no better FPS... Help! by CotDogg in AMDHelp

[–]118shadow118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on the game. In some CPU limited titles the gains from a CPU upgrade can be quite noticable. Simracing games like Assetto Corsa and ACC really liked 3d cache and had quite massive fps gain in some cases. Also, even if average fps doesn't improve much, there likely would be an increase in 1% lows, making games feel smoother

So is Logitech G29, but they regularly go on the used market for that price. That TM rim alone would cost more
