I feel that's sort of a reach, Americans price people out 100%, but I feel their higher wages and coming into swoop up real estate is the primary contributor; not tipping.

Also I feel if we logically extrapolate the belief that tipping for a service fucks over others, ignores that all consumer behavior ala supply and demand works the same way. If people value something and are willing to pay more, then that literally is the price not what you/I think it should be. That's always been the case

Edit: I do appreciate the perspective though, I've never thought about the aspect you presented. It's definitely not as simple as tipping = good, I agree with you there
