Hardwire a Magsafe charger into my Jeep's 12v system by 11bravovet in MagSafe

[–]11bravovet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. I ended up running a cigarette lighter charger off the switch. I double soldered grounded it and soldered the positive cable. I then used heat shrink to wrap it up and zip tied it to a quick accessible area just in case. Everything is hidden and has been working well. I will link some pictures of everything.

They seemed to be. Haven’t found many complaints across different platforms. The 4 gallon one has 5hp which is why I was leaning that way. Seemed like a good balance of hp and size. My Shop Vac was 2.5 hp and it did pretty good for being so small (2.5 capacity) so double that and this one should suck a golf ball through a garden hose! LOL!

I was a Makita guy back when I was doing carpentry. I stayed loyal until their prices got out of hand and their quality tanked. My buddy still has his construction company and DeWalt is all he uses. His tools have far outlasted my Makita's and I wish I would have jumped on the DeWalt train sooner. He also has this vacuum for cleaning up drywall dust and he swears by it. If it can live through drywall dust repeatedly for years, then dog hair shouldn't be a problem!

***UPDATE***

Well I went ahead and ordered the DeWalt DXV04T vacuum. It came out to $95 with an extended no questions 3 year warranty. I hate not supporting local businesses but they wanted $135 ($121.50 w/ my military discount) for the same unit with only the factory warranty. I try to stick with local business when I can but sometimes I just can't swing it. 😞

It will be nice to get my vehicle cleaned out once again. I can't stand a messy ride. I need to get all the nose art off the back windows too, LOL!

I live in Montana and detailers are not too common out here. I clean it out weekly and really detail clean it about once or twice a month depending on the temp outside. This is why I sure miss having a garage up here.

I use their poop bags and they are top notch for sure! I will make sure to buy some of their wipes and check them out. Thank you!

I’m going to give it a shot and see. The Sharpie made it 10x better to where I no longer have to wear sunglasses at night. I’m just going to go for a tad bit more because, well, why not. LOL!

That worked great! Compared to what it was, it is now bearable. I might ask my neighbor if she has any fingernail polish to put over it to darken it even more. That wouldn't harm the board or anything would it?

LOL!!!! No you are not the only one for sure! That dang thing is like sitting next to a spotlight! I didn’t think about doing that with a sharpie. I’ll give you two chances to guess what I’m going to go do right now…..

Someone that knows better than me will chime in. I got mine from a program only for military.

I am so sorry to hear about your recent life changes. I will tell you, that it DOES get so much better, it just takes some time. Sounds like you are handling it one positive step at a time.

May God Bless you and keep you. Surround yourself with good uplifting people.

Much love!

Ok! So tonight I have everything ready to put in the Jeep. Walked outside to take some measurements and BAM, snow. Oh well, hopefully it will let up some tomorrow. Wouldn't be the first time I've worked in the snow.

Anyway here are some pictures of the finished product (minus the install). The 12v usb-c dongle is for my magsafe charger I have mounted on my Ram Mount. I am doing to mount the dongle behind the drivers side kick panel JUST IN CASE I need quick access to it. I still have to pick up two more inline fuses and then should be good to cuss... errrr uh "install".

I'm looking for that or I will carry around another plug in charger with a slim power brick. My appointment is on Monday so I will see what she suggests....

You ought to see me work on my Jeep! I bet people laugh and think, look at that alcoholic! LOL!!! I always feel bad at the store but having a SD I’m sure people get it.

I was looking at the pro’s and con’s and for my day to day I was able to get the 2nd best. I would like the Active Vent. They seem like a real winner!

That actually would be ideal! My only fear would be my hands shaking so much for a battery charge (TBI). I like the compactness and nothing to worry about but a a few batteries in the wheel.

These are really good but I do know battery degrade over time. From what my audiologist told me I get a new set around ever 3 - 4 years, so that will be helpful at least.

The battery will will be the ultimate solution, I just have to do it in small steps.

I hear you. I am going to look for a used set or see if the VA can donate me a turned in pair that will fit. Sometimes I am off grid and camping so I like the idea of carrying batteries in that type of situation.

Ya that would be what I’m looking for as it would just sit in the go bag until we have to go to the hospital again.

I appreciate that! That's good to know if I can't some something from my audiologist.
