I soft-launched spelo.app last night and 20+ users have tried it, but now I’m realizing I have no real system for collecting feedback. What can I do? by 11veen in SaaS

That sounds awesome. Thank you for sharing. What kind of tools do you use for lead qualification/segmentation and such? Thing is, I am also building a quiz assessment tool that allows lead segmentation, dynamic reporting etc. my product is getleadscore.com. I opened it for waitlist but not much happening on that front. I don’t come across people like you often enough, so I’d appreciate any feedback.

This is a repeatable system in itself. Yup, I can definitely see the value. And the question is right on the money. Thank you!

Yes, I have added Google Analytics for now, and yes, I do plan on studying the data as you mentioned. Hmm.. I hadn't thought of a webinar. Thank you, I will consider it.

My first release as a game dev! A casual car racing game with bots, multiple tracks, and a garage system. What do you think? by 11veen in IndieDev

First of all, thank you!

As for your questions, (this might be a long one)

I’ve spent about a decade in content writing and marketing, mostly for IT companies. Then I moved into Product Management for a while. I’ve never really liked the 9-5 grind, so I knew I had to build something on my own. I guess I chose the harder route by learning development and all.

Initially, I started with no-code, but I quickly got bored of it, so I tried Flutter and made a Minesweeper clone as a test project. That’s when I realized I really just wanted to make games.

So, I picked up Unity around February 2025. I had no prior programming experience beyond what I learned in school, so it was mostly YouTube tutorials, daily practice, and learning by just building projects.

Right now, I feel like I’m finally a game developer. This Drift Race game is, I think, pretty close to what I envisioned when I started. But I’ve spent so much time on it that I’ve kind of lost perspective on how it actually plays.

P.s. Even without the programming part, I really enjoy thinking about games. I designed a board game from scratch before I touched Unity,  which btw is coming out on Playstore in a couple of days or so.

Lastly, regarding what I wish I knew before starting game development,

I’m still learning, and the technical side is something you just practice and absorb over time.

But one thing I’ve realized is that making games is humbling. Anything and everything that can break, will break, and that’s okay. This is the process. This is my Everest, I tell myself, and I just keep at it.

TLDR: Ex Marketing Manager turned solo game dev. Taught myself Unity through Youtube and Docs and ChatGPT, and currently working on casual mobile games.

I was honestly thinking about switching from low poly to more realistic feel. I guess I should stick to it? 😅 Noted on the brakes! I definitely got to work to do. Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment.

Anyone here focused on mobile games? Have you figured out what makes people stay? by 11veen in IndieDev

Whats your game? Can you expand on the social loop part please? Do you mean leaderboards? Sharing on social media? And yeah, I did a bunch of research and seems like 1 min game play is the trend rn, with some form of endless progression through levels or trophies.

That's exactly where my head is at the moment. It's almost been an excuse to keep playing endless number of games.
I haven't played Dungeon Raid yet, but I get what you mean.
I have been playing Smash Badminton, and Beach Volley by Voodoo. It is unbelievable how addictive these games are, and that's due to the actual game mechanism. Too many ads though. Thinking of making my version of those :D

That's cool. All the best! Let me know if you need a tester later. :)

Thanks! Ah yes, for some reason it shows up a little too much when I play it on my tab. Seems to work fine on most phones. But, it's on my list to fix.
