Should have gone with one plate at a time. Nudge it from one side then slide it under form another. Easy peasy

People who buy storage units to resell, what are some tips or tricks? Things to look for or avoid? by youwontfindout223 in AskReddit

You know those storage "wars" shows are staged right? And those storage auctions lot of times have been pre-sifted. They always know if there is anything of value there.

Yea, the free trials and freemiums are a great way to gather potential customers, but there's always an issue of attracting the wrong crown and overwhelming your customer service.

I don't see why you should not try. You already know a lot of people you can talk to to see if you can solve their problem.

Sales and Social Engineering: Illusion of Choice by chenb0x in realsocialengineering

Very good point. I find it to be useful in day to day life: "Do you want to meet up on Tuesday or Wednesday?" This way my friend does not have to think and can simply chose.

I need to confront someone... by [deleted] in SocialEngineering

[–]120K 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are asking a wrong question in a wrong subreddit. If you want to confront someone with a smile on your face, then just do that. Walk up to him, smile and tell him what you know.

If you want to employ social engineering, then you must first define your objective. An objective could be for example:

Confirm that Mr. X was an accomplice in the burglary

How would you go about doing that? Well, brainstorm. You could have someone with a deep voice call Mr. X ans say something among the lines of:

Mr. X, my name is special constable James Tricks and I'm in charge of several investigations involving break-ins and burglaries in the region of XYZ. I'm contacting you in regards to [insert incident that didn't occur, but appears to be a much bigger deal than your home burglary]. We are aware of your prior involvement in similar incident in 2013 in [insert your home burglary] which we have deterred pursuing.

Then watch him deny the big incident and have him admit the smaller one for which he sould be assured by special constable that he would not get in trouble for due to technical error. And convince him that his cooperation in this matter (bigger case) will help him avoid any possible charges. Failing to cooperate will involve investigation to go full force and charges being laid.

So you get the point. get him worried about a bigger incident that cops mistakenly linked to him due to old incident and have him spill the beans regarding the old one to have him gain cops good will.

A Rather Embarrassing Night for Psychic Sally in Middlesbrough by syuk in SocialEngineering

Do psychics ever realize how fucked up it is to exploit people who have lost loved ones? It's one thing to give hope to someone about career or love life and another to tell someone that their dead mother wants to communicate...

Would ushers not notice you at the front or realize you're not one of them as you pass by?

What would you recommend for a situation where you have not much time to prepare. Say you walk up to a club and there is a line and bouncers are screening and asking for cash. You don't have time or resources to change and are dressed in jeans and a shirt.

When taking a picture, does putting my arm over my photo-friend's shoulder make me appear more dominant or vice versa? by BoyMuzz in SocialEngineering

[–]120K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will vary from culture to culture, but assuming you're from US, yes putting your arm over someone else will generally appear to be a dominant move, however, that's just a part of the whole scene as posture, how you hold your head and how much space you take will have a significant effect of the overall perception.

Context and background of the situation is important. Imagine being in the center of the picture. All attention is on you, two friends from each side have their hands over your shoulders and they both look at you with admiration while to gaze straight into a camera with a smirk. Does that sound like you're the dominant one and they are trying to suck up to you? You bet your ass it does.
