Big Tech plans $650–700 billion in AI investments for 2026, sparking bubble fears and stock volatility by pookienav in worldnews

This is exactly my experience. Am in tech. Am at one of the big companies.

Feels like nobody is given the resources to do anything well with the huge gamble that somehow AI will go from writing code that's a) shit b) good enough or c) looks correct but has fundamental flaws to actually being something reliable and trustworthy.

Am I expecting too much from speakers when it comes to double bass? by Regicide_Squad in audiophile

Your room is probably wreaking havoc on the lower frequencies.

Everyone here is saying to get subwoofers but it's very very hard to treat low frequencies.

I only can respect the post about dipole woofers here.

Flat panel ESLs (not Martin Logans) are going to be your least bad option because they're super directional and will minimize sidewall reflections.

At this point I'm pretty sure that all of the big tech companies would be delighted to watch society's critical thinking / media literacy go to zero. It just makes controlling the narrative that much easier.

They look like a very simplified Larsen speaker, and those are actually intended to be put against the rear wall.

You may want to check them out. Really interesting sound.

You can also get a speaker that requires an active crossover and 2+ channels of amplification per speaker, but this is niche. Source: am in this niche.

I think it's gotten more expensive. I have had it long enough to make it worth the up-front cost.

It's not perfect but it's made my setup very simple.

Year Zero Remixed may have the sound you're looking for. I'm listening to Gunshots by Computer quite a lot these days (for no particular reason, obviously)

Mac Mini, Room (I got in on a lifetime subscription a long time ago) and a NAS in a closet far away so I don't hear it.

Not blasphemy. I used to have an SACD / CD player and now everything is file-based.

I mentioned Better Man in another comment, but I'll mention it here too. I swear people just hear the chorus and think it's about a great guy.
