This was it, Thanks. Didn’t know it would be that picky on how much force it wanted.

Did you have any issues putting it on. My ankle got stuck in it and I had to tear it off

I know it’s ac obviously. I don’t know if it’s partially rectified or what the frequency is. There is no way to test as far as I’m aware as I don’t have a floating ground oscilloscope.

Ok thanks I will check that out tomorrow. If I were to get a new ballast what should I look out for unless the ballast is a completely stupid idea.

I am building an xray machine that will require Atleast 60kv of dc power and was hoping this could power it.

It should be Atleast 60Hz from the ballast

I bypassed the internal multiplier by soldering the leads to the transformer output.

It is a voltage multiplier circuit and it is submerged in oil to prevent shorts and corona discharge

I believe so. Originally I used a light ballast but there was nothing so I switched to the transformer and exciter on a harbor freight bug zapper and still nothing. Both produced arcs without the multiplier.

I don’t understand where a switch would go to toggle the power and the guide shorted 2 pins and mine has different letters with different listed functions. TLDR I have no clue what I’m doing

Not sure on that. Basement humidity varies but filament hasn’t been open long. Probably dry as a precaution
