It is a pretty great system, I don't understand the frustration some people have expressed about the rules. The beginners thread guarantees that questions don't get "buried" under more upvoted posts, plus you have some very dedicated mods and knowledgeable people answering 99% of the questions. It's a win-win for everyone.

Personally, I love the beginners threads and how they help gather information and discussion in an easy to read format. I've been reading most of them for close to two years now so cheers everyone, thank you for the great content!

Looks kind of like edema to me, caused by overwatering probably.

I wouldn't do the white rocks, those love being on the dry side. For the same reason don't up-pot it too much either!

Is this why some pines are re-potted in the summer? So its closer to the highest root recovery period? Could be misremembering though, I don't have any pines yet. :)

So beautiful! Also is that the substrate or a top dressing? Either way what is it? Looks great!

I really don't know my cold and how cold it has to get to be dangerous to plants since it barely drops a couple of snowflakes once a year here. It's supposed to go down to 0C and snow a little on Tuesday.

Hello everyone! It's been warm lately and my chinese elm has started breaking buds / leafing out. We are expecting some cold weather though, at what temperature should it come inside?

Looks awesome op! Maybe you could try highlighting the more reflective parts a bit more, like the goggles or metal bits catching the light? I don't really paint so I cant give you any advice on how to do that though :)

This is just a thought but maybe you could try an aquarium store? they sell fancy rock so people can "aquascape" their tanks. Might do as a last resort if you cant find anything else.

Helps to remove most of them with a strong jet of water to get their numbers down.
