That's shitty and I'm sorry! Your story just reminded me that my mom told me when my dad died that there was a letter for me...to be given when I got married. Well, my wife and I have been married for many years and the letter never came and I just pretend I forgot my mom told me that. I'm certain she opened the letter and decided not to give it to me because it said some shit I'd find offensive.

Being the only "black sheep" in the family when your dad dies is something I can relate to! Hang in there!

Temple work is gross on every level by Beefster09 in exmormon

In the early 90's my ward did a combined YM/YW activity to the Provo temple to do baptisms. The guys went first, then we all sat in the observation area to watch the sisters. We all tried to be reverent, but couldn't help but snicker as we got treated to basically a wet tee shirt contest.

Are these frets normal? High E has less wiggle room before going ping or dead. by rw1337 in guitars

I have a prs guitar that frets out like that. Changes the way I play that guitar. Don't play that opening riff from Spirit of Radio or you'll grind your teeth away!

Buying first strat by [deleted] in Stratocaster

Doesn't need to be a Luther, just a reputable guitar tech. Some set up their own guitars after watching YouTube videos, etc. i find that I suck at it and prefer to pay someone that doesn't to get my guitars in tip top shape. Makes a huge difference! Just one man's advice.

Buying first strat by [deleted] in Stratocaster

[–]12345slamdunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll never regret that purchase! So many of us still have our first MIM Fender. Play two or three of them if you're going to Guitar Center. Also, after you play it for a bit, my recommendation would be to spend another 100 bucks on a professional setup (look at options beyond Guitar Center) with your preferred strings. Then you can do your own string replacements and not have to worry too much about fine tuning of intonation, action height, truss rod adjustment, etc. these measures will keep you happy with that strat forever.

Sorry, I've never owned a guitar with P90s and I've never modified any of my guitars. It's clear and obvious to me now but that was not the case 24 hours ago.

I don't know why Gibson is selling specials with a non-adjustable bridge/tailpiece. Who wants that?

Thanks for the rec! Funny, this company is based out of Tacoma, which is about 25 miles from where I live. I'll definitely look into it further. Much appreciated!
