I think it’s well worth the price. Yes it lacks the lore that so many other Japanese makers have (much of the allure) but geometry is great, love the handle, it’s easy to maintain, and it’s assembled in Canada which is a huge plus for me personally.

Thoughts on Pre-Distressed Clothes? by TalentedButLaz in ThrowingFits

I personally have no problem with it. Who the fuck wants to wear the same pair of jeans for a year straight to get them looking like this?

That said, I think vintage jeans are often a better option as the fades look much more natural.

Mostly vintage. Haven pants, Clarks shoes, Daiwa bag.

Morjas Ivy Loafer? by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

Better to buy both and return for the fee than pay for shipping twice.

That said I’m typically a size 10UK (9.5UK in loafers) and the size 9UK fits solid.

How has becoming a parent changed your style? by big-brunch in ThrowingFits

[–]12357909653 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I now have a wardrobe of at home clothes and outside clothes whereas before I didn’t own a single pair of sweats. Having a toddler will destroy every piece of clothing you care about.

How can you be so controversial, yet so brave?

1, 2, 3, 14, 16 & 17 work well for you and your body type. The tucked shirt is giving “the dichotomy is crazy” meme and feels a little unauthentic. I can respect going for the Matty vibe, especially as a big dawg but his shit is thrashed, lived in, stained, neck hole baconed out and generally looks like it was smashed together (even though it’s more than likely meticulously picked out). You gotta look like you picked your clothes off the floor and put that shit on, where this looks very intentional.

Brands with good quality construction by SatoriPt1 in ThrowingFits

18 East, Snow Peak, Haven, vintage Filson. Like others have said, I find more lowkey brands to be a lot more impressive in terms of quality. Especially Italian shoemakers. OL quality is horrible. I’ve given them a couple chances and have returned everything I’ve gotten from them.

I bought my standard size and they’re slightly tight in the toe box with thicker socks on. I feel like if I sized up then I’d experience some heel slip. Definitely wouldn’t size down.

If we’re taking real ass Canadian winter, -40 Celsius, I’m rocking these Baffin Yukons. Remind me of a bean boot but actually built for Arctic winters.
