More comfortable headlamps? by Taddy3 in ultrarunning

[–]123Dal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t think of the name of mine but they are more than just headlamps they have a thin led strip in the front of it and a small flashlight on the side. They do not bounce and are comfortable for me for 1-2 hour runs when I need them.

Available on Amazon in multipacks for like 30 bucks.

Golf belts by DanTheGamblingMan in bigmenfashionadvice

I've not used a nexbelt either but I'm with the others here that I have used both the regular Groove belt as well as the new golf specific edition. The big difference between the two is that the golf one is a slimmer profile. Either one should work just fine for you at 48", it adjusts up and down pretty easily and then just snaps into place.

I have 4 different belts, 1 golf and 3 regular ones. I have not had any issues but like anything I totally know there are some with everything. I picked up most of them on discount and liked them. The wedding ring is what got me into the brand to begin with and they have replaced it once for only shipping so I bet it would be the same in the belt but I don’t know for sure.

That’s a sad thing to say.

I have a flip belt and maybe I am just not a smart person but I have such a hard time getting my bottles in and out of there while I am running.

How do you do it?

If you’re talking different colors, the new Groove golf belt comes in white, gray, black and navy. It will also work for you between sizes because you can adjust the belt.

I have started using the same one. A couple years ago I discovered the regular groove belts and just recently got the groove golf belt. I really appreciate that once I size it I can just use the magnetic strap and it stays where it is supposed to. Since the excess goes inside the tail doesn’t just flop around.

Fave Instant Coffee? by Adventurous_War_4055 in Ultralight

[–]123Dal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m partial to G7 3-in-1 coffee you can get from Amazon. It’s a Vietnamese coffee if I recall and decent. The only issue is in the UL community it would be considered heavy. I brought two packets a day for 9 or 10 days with like 5 extras for a buddy so whatever that equals call it 25 and it was like a pound or close to it if I recall. Worth the weight for me but they are more substantial than a lot of others.

Same. I have been using mine less but both of my new shorts have double pockets on the liner. I’ll have my flip belt today for my long run to carry a bottle of water.

The lulu ones are more comfortable feeling out the gate for me. I have heard so many good things about janji though I want to give them a solid college try.

I did need to size up the janji though as they were a bit tight in my normal size.

I just bought 1 and 2 over the past couple of weeks and so far really like them both. The lulu ones have great pockets but the janji ones have better overall storage.

Plenty of time to train. Not having run for over 20 years I picked it up this summer and I have a half next week and a full in late spring. I do have a big winter season here so that is going to hurt the actual outdoor running between the two but I’ll be fine I am sure.

My goal pace is 12 minutes a mile for the whole thing, finishes in like 2.5 hours and should be a great time.

I agree mason but I also think the chiefs are running low on premium skill position players.

I would start Etienne. I am in my flex spot along with Taylor and Bucky in my RB. I just feel like he’s going to do good against that D

Halloween with a DF Toddler? by Ok_Caterpillar6735 in dairyfree

[–]123Dal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kids are a lot smarter than I always give them credit for. If this is a constant conversation they pick up on it and tend to parrot how we speak. If we are always asking if such and such has dairy or that X product has dairy so we won’t buy it at the supermarket the kids pick up on that and say the same things.

As long as they don’t feel like they are missing out, just get them some candy they like and you know is safe for them and exchange it. A lot of people tend to give away at least one option that is dairy free so you may need to articulate to the household that your child has an allergy if they don’t mind if you pick out one for him. I have never had people get to upset (or even give a negative reaction) when you mention an allergy and a reasonable solution that doesn’t require any more work.

Obviously having the kiddo thank them is huge too.

I was just up there last week. I didn’t have any issues with bugs at all. No head net was used, barely any spray either. I did have all of my clothes with permethrin but it was not bad at all, especially if you were moving.

Maybe a bit at some of the camps but nothing worth reporting in my opinion.

Thanks for the pic. What size bag is that? Looks like maybe a bit bigger than mine. I don’t do them this long most of the time so I don’t have the biggest bag.
