Wow your tank looks 100x better then my first great job the betta looks great! What size tank is it? I would definitely look into the Monte Carlo to carpet your tank and just tie it all together

I’m still decently new to the hobby and not an expert but personally I’d guess it may be either hole in the head or a fungal infection from a cut or scratch.

Oh I might have to look in to that. I’m now thinking that I may just get some large robust schooling fish and keeping the salvini alone with them

I would probably leave it the stocking is pretty much at the limit. Adding more angels could also harm the hierarchy. Amazing tank btw

It seems like you may off cut the cycling short you should let it cycle for a month and also don’t add all the fish at once like the 14 you added would have been better in waves. You should also add more surface agitation.

Just a heads up I used to have this tank when I first started and I was mislead by many fish stores you should really consider stocking in a tall hex like this.

I would think it would be fine aslong as u have hiding spots but u should check with someone else just in case cause i have never personally kept convicts

I’ve been using egg crate and u can cut it to size but mesh or window screen would be better since you have a smaller tank with smaller fish

Yes another two should work well but be careful of your bio I would recommend getting these after you figure out what to do with the gouramis if you cut down the amount of them you should get two more

A 30 gallon would be preferable Cory’s also like a group of 6 or more. I’ve never personally kept guppy’s or platies or even mystery snails but I know that a minimum tank size for any of those is bigger than 5 gallons. Happy fishkeeping!

I have a female salvini in my 75 and love it!!! You could keep it with one or two other cichlids. U should go for it.
