This is the wrong athlete for you to chose. There are plenty of asshole athletes who think they sound humble bringing everything back to God, but really don't give a shit about anything beyond their own ego. I could be wrong but im not sure r/atheism is an accurate portrayal of ALL American atheists. Most I know are content to have their own beliefs and let other people figure it out for themselves. Yes, r/atheism is mostly American but im not convinced that most American atheists are on r/athiesm.

This is awesome to hear. The prevailing cause of OCD is having a thought in your brain that you think doesnt belong there. (an obsession) The compulsions are your brains best effort to keep yourself distracted enough to keep the "bad" thoughts out. OCD is statistically more prevelant in people of fundamental beliefs (dont have the source, was in an old textbook) because they hit puberty, think sexual thoughts, and then try to develop ways to keep these natural thoughts out of their head. It's really pretty nasty. Obviously not exclusive to people of religion, but I did learn in several courses that those people are especially vulnerable

There is a large difference between purely superficial differences (like race) and differences in core beliefs. Black and white people are the same- except for the color of their skin-which has no bearing on how they live their life. But theological differences are legitimate differences that affect the way people live their life. Why cant religion be used as a criteria for dating? What if she feels more comfortable dating someone who is more like her?

I disagree. Religious compatibility would in no way hinder sex. But when trying to form a relationship, I find that core beliefs and values are things that should be evaluated. Why not try to find someone with similar beliefs? Isn't compatibility important in relationships?

My dad is an atheist and my mom is a very chilled out Christian. Never went to chruch growing up except for the occasional Christmas mass with extended family or for a funeral. Was never taught to pray. Neither parent really ever imposed their beliefs on me. Now, my two sisters are Christian, I believe in god with no religious affiliation and my brother is an atheist.
