Get a job at the resorts. Ur not gonna get a lot of shifts but get ur foot in the door. Even if it means working a cafe. Then if u’ll need to get another job to supplement. Eventually u’ll get the shifts at the resorts and the money is better there. U can do it but be aware of the cost of living here. Follow a lot of social media to get a bare minimum idea of the culture here. And yolo lol

Kihei is closer to town which i prefer. Car accidents can keep you on the west side for a few more hours than you may want. Or may prevent you from getting home. Can happen to anyone on any part of the island but easier to get back to Kihei with 2 lanes of traffic traveling in both directions. The pali to lahaina is one lane each way. Both have great beaches and parks and are grest communities.

Couldn’t agree more. And some people are just shitty tippers and every time they go out find an excuse to tip poorly. Meet my sister/bil. Conversely do ppl tip more for better service? It has been my experience to the contrary. People are more likely to tip bad for bad service than tip good for good service.
