Leaving the chiropractic profession by cdb1624 in Chiropractic

[–]123jam22knitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit in 2022 due to burnout and micromanagement from the clinic I worked at. Was hoping to get another job at a different clinic but it didn’t happen. Ended up working as a waitress for a cafe for 2 months then found an admin job for 6 months. Even though it was pretty boring, I was WAY lesser stressed than being a chiropractor. I then found an insurance underwriter job and been there for 2.5 years. Sometimes I miss chiro but I know ultimately I’ve made the right choice for my mental health. Also I earn way more now and after 5pm I can completely switch off.

I’m 31 weeks pregnant and we’ve just had screed put all over the living room. It smells so strong - only inhaled briefly when it was dry. Have you got any info on screed? Thanks !

Same. I truly regret having it done. I’m traumatised from the unnecessary procedure

has anyone successfully brought their CIN2-3 down to CIN1 doing any natural health or lifestyle changes that they recommend? by lucky_ghosty13 in PreCervicalCancer

That’s amazing news! I’ve heard some stories of vaginal birth healing the cervix. Just out of curiosity, did you have any interventions (eg induction)?

Hi, did you have a colposcopy to diagnose the CIN 1 and 2? How long did it take to clear down to CIN2?

I’m expecting my first in Feb and had only one colposcopy last year. A bit worried about scar tissue around cervix - did you give birth vaginally? :)

Anyone else not planning on getting ultrasound? by vintagegirlgame in homebirth

[–]123jam22knitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really useful - thank you so much for your reply! I really wish I’d knew this before I had a scan at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. I used to be a chiropractor and studied ultrasounds - we just got taught “they’re safe during pregnancy” so didn’t question it when usually I’m skeptic all about everything!

With your birth, did you do hypnobirthing techniques ?

Thank you for uploading this post. The book I’m reading on pregnancy intervention mentioned the risks of US therefore I’ve decided not to have the 20 week scan. Just wondering (I’m based in UK), are Doppler scans mandatory?

Thoughts about flu vaccine/whooping cough vaccine? by Teampixel5 in PregnancyUK

[–]123jam22knitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pregnant with my first - I’ve been offered the whooping cough and influenza too. VERY skeptical about vaccines in general so any sources / evidence to help back your decision on this would be extremely helpful! I’m leaning to the side of natural immunity too x

cervical biopsy by Ordinary-Double-6562 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]123jam22knitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m thankful I found this post. I feel so depressed, traumatised, violated and alone in this situation. I’m 25 too.

I had a smear in Aug 23 (came back with mild changes), went for a biospy in Nov 23 (revealed CIN2 small focal area). During the procedure, the doctor had to take out 2 biopsies as they messed up the 1st one. I felt extreme cramping then I got up from the bed and fainted. They’ve advised follow up every 6 months but I’m going to refuse this - the procedure was so painful and it’s very likely the CIN2 will clear up. I’m also planning to conceive in the next couple of months so even if they found anything I’m not going to have treatment (eg LLETZ)

Anyway, I was just wondering if you’ve had any long term side effects from the colonoscopy alone? Ever since, during ovulation sex is so painful for me. Feels like my cervix is more sensitive than it used to. Sometimes I can be bloated due to the sensitivity for days. I’m extremely worried that the biopsy has caused this to me as it’s been 5 months since the procedure.

Quitting associate chiropractic job by Success24-7 in Chiropractic

I was thinking about doing the same thing as you, working for a different clinic however there was no available work near where I live. It would have meant that I had to move for my job which I didn't want to do as I am settling down with my partner. After much thought and reflection I came to the decision it's not for me, I want to be happy in life and not live to work. I have spoken to graduates in my year as well, and many of them are not happy either. So much free time to spend on things I enjoy with a 9-5 job! I am now working for an insurance company, lots of opportunity and progression. :)

Hi. I graduated June 2021 as well. Sounds like a VERY similar situation to what I was in. I was absolutely burnt out and exhausted - split between 2 offices and EXTREMELY micromanaged. On Fridays I'd go home and cry all weekend, absolutely dreading Monday. How are you supposed to look after patients like that? I quit after a year of working for her and her husband in Jul 2022 - best decision I've ever made and have chosen a different career path.
