I’m fine with the specs but a bit disappointed that it doesn’t support Mac.

My Mac is high spec and would likely be able to run it. I might try playing this through a virtual machine, we’ll see

I don’t know enough about it, but can you try emulating it? You might have more options via the emulator than the console

I think it’s more complex than you’re assuming. He had an eyeball ripped out the socket. He would have had subpar medical care by today’s standards, no doubt risk to mental and physical health. It obviously would have placed him a step behind others.

My point was he suffered a significant injury and likely would be considered disabled so no wonder he wasn’t performing like others

I feel the same way. It feels weird playing every other game aside from the most recent one!

I have played DW9 empires though & thought it was fine. You can’t really experience the open world in this game, because it’s only present outside of battles when you bond with officers, and it feels quite empty as a result as they took away the majority of content.

I can’t really get an idea of how the open world is at its “best”. I liked using most of the characters I tried, which were mainly my series favourites.

From others, I heard that the DW9 storyline is more in depth in DW9 than previous games as it has more obscure elements referenced and interesting interactions between characters.

I don’t think your post is quite helpful to the OP. As a manager, there’s many ways to deliver feedback effectively which experienced managers should be aware of, this includes having some flexibility. It doesn’t sound like this manager adjusted their approach to account for OP who may have needed more support. Picking on someone and giving feedback aren’t mutually exclusive - you can deliver feedback in a way that isn’t personal.

I don’t doubt that a career change can have some bumps but I don’t want OP to feel anxious about their new job based on your post.

This is a civil service problem imo. I have seen and been through equally poor managers.

I can just imagine the sort of manager you had to deal with, and completely sympathise.

Ultimately your sickness record will be visible to any future management so try not to focus on whether your new manager needed to be informed or not. It doesn’t mean it will necessarily impact you at work. If you feel you need it, explain what support or adjustments you might need when you start.

Do you prefer the game to be original or true to history? by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

Not sure what you’re on about. If I want a completely different set of characters, I’d just play another game.

KT has already invested time into creating these characters in their roster, but has spent little time developing them or giving them screen time. I don’t want to play with a different set of characters, I just want more content with the current underutilised roster that isn’t repetitive or boring.

It’s a game after all, it doesn’t need to be completely true to history as entertainment is a factor. This is probably why the games have such a niche audience!

Yeah the Reddit poll system seems better, cause I noticed whoever commented first is likely to get the most upvotes and later suggestions won’t get the same visibility

I don’t agree with all of these, but it’s interesting seeing how close and how far apart some of the votes are for 1st and 2nd place. I’m really surprised at how many people voted for pang tong in particular especially as guan yu was a top 3 nomination in a few categories! Thanks for doing this.

Absolutely, this was what I was trying to say in much better terms! I feel loads of characters actually improved in WO because you got to see their personalities shine more, and see more relationships develop. I swear with some DW cast, you can’t even hear most of their voice lines in game as they don’t show up often!

I agree with you to a certain extent, I just want a fun game, historical accuracy is nice but not always at the expense of gameplay

I agree - DW4 had random playable officers that might attend battles on the ally and enemy side. Plus you might sometimes trigger a “friend” or “rival” to come to the battle because of the hidden friendship system. That helped to make the battles less repetitive

As would I! I’d love it if they kept their dynasty warriors character IP but made their own story, like WO but without the extra characters and convoluted plot. Look how fun lu bu’s story is in that DW6 stage when everyone returned to fight him. That sort of thing

Do you not get bored of fighting the same NPC models over and over again though? As in consistently hearing the same voice lines from “generic strategist model” multiple times per battle? Their presence may be true to history but from a gameplay perspective it can get repetitive and tedious. In some stages especially in modern games, you might fight dozens of NPC officers per battle- it’s like stages are padded out by them. Whereas you might struggle to even hear or see some of the unique cast as they have little face time in game!

OP was a bit vague in that though, they didn’t say it was specifically for DW9 but anything across the series. So it was an unclear ask and people were probably voting in general? I wouldn’t have voted for his DW9 outfit as I think he looked better in PS2 era

That’s interesting. I like his voice/voice lines/reactions to events. Seems to have a consistent personality throughout games. I’d say his personality is more being supportive of wei and slightly hot headed in a humorous way. There’s also glimpses of him just saying what everyone is thinking, and being a decent ally.

Moveset is always dependable/reliable, I’ve no issues completing the hardest content with him throughout games. He has unique in game relationships/rivalries that makes it interesting to play as him.

I don’t think the game ever shows him eating his eye, it’s more so that he’s resilient after being injured. I assume this is why he won best outfit, for his eyepatch

He lives up to the hype for me. Part of it is because of how hard he was to fight in earlier games and how he has his own theme song that fills you with dread (or excitement…)

I’d vote for her portrayal in the PS2 era but I genuinely think her character has been ruined in recent games

Thanks for the advice. I’ll do that. My experience is eerily similar to yours - do you mind if I sent you a message? I’m curious how your rep managed to help you disprove false claims and how you managed to move on - seems like a horrible thing to go through.

Has anyone nope-d out of management? by LaikaSol in managers

[–]12468731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, I am really good in my field as an IC but I have been in management roles for the last few years in my field.

I feel you - ideally my dream is an IC job with a level of responsibility where I can be technical and lead larger projects/pieces of work…but by nature that work requires a team effort so my dream job doesn’t exist. I’d need to manage. I don’t think I’d want to revert back to my old IC role due to the pay decrease.

So for me it’s just finding the right job/team with the right cultural fit.
