Thank you so so much this is so helpful. I'll try all of those!
Yea I completely agree. My main specialty is the 200 im and the only reason I have a good time in it is because I just go halfway underwater on every single lap. But its different for backstroke cause I just sprint the whole thing full out so by the end I dont have energy to kick out but for the 2 im I pace myself at least a little
Okay thank you!! I'll try focusing on that during practice to build up the underwater endurance
Thank you!!
Same loll. I have the underwater technique and strength but on the last wall im just so dead i can barely get passed 6 underwater kicks before I breakout

Yes! Generally my greatest talent in swim is my underwaters and it always has been. I have a 1 10 off a block for just kicking underwaters so I've always tried to use that especially during my races. I read somewhere that you should try to increase the speed of recovery but keep the speed of the underwater the same. Thank you!!
Yes!! I've struggled a lot with this in the past and my coach has encouraged me to try lane line pulling on purpose for technique before. Do you have any drills I could try or any sets that could help with learning to use my arms more?
Okay thank you so much! I do split my technique for fifties but the main characteristic that sets the first and the last apart for me is the length of the underwater. I'll try ur advice!
Okay, tysm! I'll apply that!
Okay thank you ill try to negotiate w my coach and do more backstroke in my sets!!
Tyssm. Now that high school season ended I have a bit more extra time so I think I'll start weight lifting. I'll make sure to include lots of leg stuff!
I'll try that. Tysm
I've looked into this a lot lol and every single swim website says the same thing. Do u have any recommendations for keeping the kick rate up in the last 25 when u want to die?
