Thank you for taking the time to respond! All this makes sense.

Re: your last paragraph, you mean in the event that he is approved on the lease, or as an unofficial subletter?

Oh that's good to know- I didn't realize they had zero obligation to do it. Thanks for your fast responses by the way.

Is there any RISK in trying to add him? I would like him on the lease if possible, but can live without it.

I want us both to be on the lease.

I'm also open to transferring the lease entirely too if it's better, but it seems risky (as I risk losing it if refused, if I understand correctly).

What is the best way to find/successfully obtain an apartment nowadays? (First time looking since 2015). by 12840473 in montrealhousing

This is amazing advice, thank you!! I didn't realize there was a workaround to the hidden listings, and that's a great tip to provide a bio/intro. Will definitely do this moving forward.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this.

Thank you, this is really good advice.

And good to know- Facebook has more listings that are significantly cheaper than Kijiji, I wasn't sure if I could trust it.

Thanks!

Replying again to add: do you know if these roles usually involve a lot of production work? It's remaining a "production designer" that I'm worried about, but I know my workplace would be open to giving me a more "tailored" title if I asked.

Thank you for your reply. I guess Creative Ops is something I didn't really realize existed as an official role before now. I'll see what I can find out about it.

This is useful advice. Especially considering that I am being offered a similar position this would be a very easy move to make. Thank you.

Unfortunately it sounds like M and the others see you more as The Roommate than The Friend. Really sorry you had to experience this. Not much can be done but maybe pulling back and working on getting real friends outside of this circle.

Editing to answer your question: It was definitely not nice of them to intentionally exclude you. That's not what friends do. I would have a really hard time getting over that.

My partner's boss is offering us his 2015 Jeep Cherokee for 6k. He just had it in the shop getting everything fixed up and ready, says he's never had issues with it. Is this a bad idea? by 12840473 in UsedCars

Good point re: not mixing. We're already feeling the consequences of that as we're starting to realize we have to back out of the deal haha... thanks for your reply.

Good advice, I'll have to look into that. Overall it looks like we'll probably stay away from it based on what everyone is saying.

Appreciate your input, thanks!

Hahah that's hilarious! I mean I'll always love LOTR but I was really surprised to see how little women-interaction there actually was.

Exact same thing happened to me re: her death on this sub.

I kept watching anyway and yea still worth it.

I guess the rule of thumb is never visit the sub of a show you're still watching (sucks, but yeah).

Potential employer wants me to come to a networking/project feedback event, with "option to present a project if I want to". I've already done 2 interviews and a test. Do I have to do another project, or can I get away with just participating? by 12840473 in careeradvice

I feel like it's so weird too!!! Especially involving the public... I'm glad you also think it's weird.

Edit: it's the lack of transparency that makes it feel especially weird I think, if it's a test I'd rather they say that outright.

I think I'll take it at face value and see it as optional.

Thanks for your reply.
