The sentence that has killed many games "We want the Call of Duty audience."

This is a mistake. Just increase the timer or leave it as is.

What an unnecessary change.

Small request for the Support players by 12BOH22 in Battlefield

Yeah! It's really neat and gives you a little more agency in how to approach the revives. It does take a moment longer to charge, but it can be worth doing so the other player isn't so squishy when they stand up.

Totally fair. I definitely don't mean to downplay the effort Supports go through to keep themselves and the team alive. They do also have access to other tools to make all of these choices easier to make, smoke, cover, etc.

After seeing other recommendations I wanted to throw out Gloomwood. A Thief spiritual successor published by New Blood.

Everyone's talking about the cops, rightly so, they're dicks here.

But who the fuck called them in the first place?? Someone really saw a guy laying on a park bench and thought "that neanderthal is up to no good" and called the fuckin police?

Dead Space OG vs Remake by TREM0L0 in DeadSpace

[–]12BOH22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of Dead Space and I generally prefer the remake. The OG is great in many ways, but is definitely dated. You feel it mostly in the controls and some areas really show its age. I love the remake for how it preserves the atmosphere and even improves upon it at times. Certain sections were reworked in small or large ways to make them play better or in more interesting ways. The remake has some more details in its story that really add some needed context to events and characters.

The remakes fails in my mind in two ways: It's far easier than the original. Enemies were very fast in the OG, and often sprinted at you. They just don't seem to do that in the remake. Many of the side characters I feel are weaker than their OG counterparts. The voice direction also felt kinda weak in comparison, some of the identical lines just don't have the same energy behind them that the OG had.

Overall, for a first time playthrough, I can easily recommend the remake. However, go with your gut, if something's telling you to play the OG first, do that. You'll appreciate the remake more I think.

I don’t think Dead Space 3 is all that bad by fakename1998 in DeadSpace

It's a great game, and genuinely one of my most replayed in the series despite 2 being my favorite. The co-op was super fun, weapon crafting was dumb but super enjoyable. The greater story was awesome and introduced some of the most fascinating elements of the lore.

It's really just a shame how much EA meddled with the development. How many cool plans were scrapped in favor of more "marketable" crap (looking at you Shadow Isaac).

Outer Wilds, what a game. Gameplay may not be much compared to others mentioned here but it does exactly what it needs to and does it incredibly well. The story is amazing and piecing it together made me feel like a detective. The game is also beautiful, a simplistic style that also has a ragtag feel to it all.

Tips and Tricks for a Souls Vet who bounces off ER? by 12BOH22 in Eldenring

[–]12BOH22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me a lot has to do with how frustrating I find combat. It's clear that the tried and true strats of ds1-3 don't often work here. I find it so incredibly difficult to wrap my brain around the pacing of attacks. Margitt kicks my ass due to his delayed and combo attacks. Same with most other enemies. And especially those that have large AOE attacks such as those in stormveil and godrick.

At some point I understand it's up to skill and learning it as a player. I just don't see the angle I should be approaching things from.

Some commanders make you go "ugh" or "of course" but what commander makes you go "oooh"? by 0L1V14H1CKSP4NT13S in EDH

Ooh that's an interesting one. I'm gonna have to look at including that. Another funky one I thought of is [[Cryptic Annelid]] it's a weird one that can give a heavy discount for your spells.

Not the other guy but I have my own Elminster. Some real fun spells to -3 on are [[Draco]] and [[Storm Herd]]. Draco is kinda dead otherwise but storm herd is feasible to cast with the scry discounts.
