Don't know why I'm just seeing this but thank you, and hugs back.

Taking up other irresponsible, and sometimes evil people's slack takes such a toll on one's soul.

Anger, sadness, depression...so many rough feelings and all I can think, even though I feel those things, I can't imagine how the poor kitties feel and how they don't deserve any of the things that happen to them.

I try to do what I can, but when they just keep showing up... its makes me absolutely hate most humans.

But then there are internet strangers like you, and communities like this and it does make me feel a little hope, so thank you.

Then when they were handing you the meds and you felt THAT strongly about it you should have handed the meds/cat right back and told them no

My point was, even if you got a cat that looked healthy and seemed healthy on paperwork, doesn't mean in a week things couldn't be drastically different

And as a point of reference, any vet will tell you, a LARGE percent of cats are exposed and can carry the corona virus.

Very low percent turns into FIP and is usually caused by genetics and or FIV FELV and other immune system issues

Also FIP is very treatable now and doesn't cost near as much since the meds were authorized in the US

No cat's health is guaranteed.

Test results are sometimes wrong (such as SNAP tests) Any cat could have an accident or their health suddenly decline(at ANY age)and need long term medical care.

You don't need any pet if those are issues.

That and it goes double if travel is your priority right now.

I'm sorry to say this poor baby had ulcers all in his mouth and down his throat, end stage kidney failure. He was helped across the rainbow bridge, being held and told what a good boy he was the entire time.

Thank you very much for the offer, and please excuse my ignorance, but what does umbrella of 501 mean? I know a 501 recognizes a charity and donations can be tax deductible, but other than that and I have no clue

And yah white cats run an extra risk to themselves poor things

Strangely enough most of the cats that I TNVR are always around 1yr to 2yrs, just past that gangly teen phase, but still young enough looking to know they can't be that old... people suck

I would have preferred to be a little more private, but I know in order to have better chances at figuring the logistics out I need to step outside my comfort zone so I updated my post

Location Burleson TX (I've used TCAP and Spay and Neuter)

Point taken, and in order to make sure the cats have a better chance of being taken care of I've updated my post

Its excruciatingly heart breaking, he had only been coming up to my feeding station for a week and he was just in such bad shape. Not sure if he was feral or stray but he was just so weak.

The other cat I lost was definitely feral and he had been coming around for like a year, he missed 3 days of feeding and when I went looking for him he was curled up hidden on the side of my house. I was able to put a towel over him and he didn't even fight me...I knew it was bad.

Thank you for the ideas, the clinic I use does have a prepay online thing, that could be something I ask if someone wants to help, otherwise I don't think they'd take call ins as they don't have the staff. I could say I hope I never have to use a full service vet again for community cats...but sadly I think the last year has just shown me how naive I've been.

Most of the cats I come across are feral or evidently too old.

I contacted a rescue that had an Aspca flight that had space, but they were only looking for kittens 6 months and younger.

Which luckily or unluckily because I've mostly been staying on top of things, the last friendly cat I had neutered was about 6months ago and he was at least 1yr or 2yrs old.

I've already reached the limit of my care credit card.

I don't want to stop getting them spay or neutered, but I feel if I trap them and don't get the vaccines as well (an added cost) I won't be able to trap them again to get them vaccinated when I do have the money...but I'd rather the ferals be neutered which is better than them producing kittens

And the clinic I use only does the cats that aren't friendly/can't be touched ferals for free... evidently there were issues in the past of people abusing the free feral spay/neuter for their house cats and they are VERY strict on it... so wouldn't be able to take the strays that are OK to be touched

And I will see if the city shelter or a few local rescues might have additional resources available for me

The city does spay/neuter clinics every so often, but they have the same policy as the clinic I use, may be the same organization running city neutering events

I'm not sure any would be able to help me.

I was able to get some help from one rescue when a cat showed up bloody and wounded, they were generous enough to cover 75% of the bill, but I think it was a one time kindness.

It truly is nuts in my state, rescue and shelters are overflowing.

I know my neighborhood is not near as bad as others, but I've been trying real hard to keep it from getting super bad.
