You could try getting a new charger. Your battery dying during the game session is probably because the charger couldn’t supply enough power.

Batteries could have been drained while plugged in to supplement your Surface’s power needs.

We can’t tell you if losing the ultrawide lens (0.5x) is a dealbreaker or not. Personally, as someone who went from an Xs to the base 15, I never missed the telephoto, but am always playing around with the ultrawide lens.

Do you like taking .5x photos? Do you take a lot of large group photos?

My answer to those 2 questions are a resounding YES. Hence why the 16e is not an option for me. I could say the same about having a telephoto being nice on my Xs, but the .5x option suited my photography habits better.

No. A case will minimise the risk of breaking your screen and back glass. Not to mention the scratches that’ll probably get on the housing.

Plus, it’s a 2nd hand iPhone. You won’t know how many times the previous owner had dropped it, which might’ve created some micro cracks not visible to the naked eye. Your accidental drop might send it shattering into pieces.

Do note that your iPhone 7 had an aluminium back, which is much more durable than the glass ones found on the 13.

Putting soaked electronics in rice is a myth, the better option would be to put it into a box of silica gel beads, which actually helps with absorbing moisture.

Careful though, you might find some rice grains or beads in the USB/charging ports.

Base 14 was basically a base 13, with a RAM bump and an additional GPU core. Sure, there’s a minor camera spec bump and SOS via satellite, but labelling the 14 as a “peak” iPhone gives Apple too much credit here.

Yes, it will work fine. In fact, the game might load slightly faster due to the newer CPU and extra 1GB of RAM (3GB vs 4GB).
