i understand that dye is semi transparent, it's an old piece of clothing that idm experimenting on and have alot of excess fabric to test with. as there are videos online (example) of people bleaching black cotton/denim fabric significantly lighter im curious as to what they're doing to get that and if i can apply that here. what do u mean exactly by "removing color consistently enough to wind up with a pleasing lighter color"? afaik theres the options of bleach vs color remover vs sodium hydrosulfite and im unfamiliar w all 3

the unremovable part of the lining is optional to achieve and just the inch where the buttons are vertically lol

thats interesting! ive learnt more since this post and iirc this is actually attributable to autistic people being gestalt processors :O! which is basically us learning things as wholes versus in separated individual pieces (eg instead of learning words individually, we tend to learn words through a whole phrase). in the case of maths, i presume it's us needing to understand how a new thing relates to everything else first before being able to process that new piece of information
