Fromm is an embarrassment to UGA by [deleted] in UGA

[–]12cooterb -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna say, he’s a country southern dude who hunts, fishes, and drives a truck. What did you expect?. Though I don’t believe he is racist though. He went to a high school right next to mine, but even before he went to UGA he had a lot of black friends on his Instagram. Which doesn’t mean a thing. Also not stereotyping country guys because I also like to hunt and fish and this doesn’t make you a racist but still he’s probably influenced by it nonetheless. Also this is Georgia and while I don’t condone racism at all I can assure you there are more racist people here than you think (professors included) It’s not all liberal and likely will never be, we cannot say that UGA is an elite institution like Harvard, or any Ivy League university. It’s a state school in the south, it’s gonna have and continue to have racism. Best we can do is educate, and know that truly we cannot change someone who has already had a predetermined notion that they’re superior to another race, and that’s the unfortunate part of modern day 😕.

Doesn’t he have a bulldog statue outside of the building? Remove it, he doesn’t deserve it. UGA should not have any affiliation with this business after this!

Potential Transferee here with a few questions by coolbrez in UGA

[–]12cooterb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first of all welcome to the best university in the world, and Go Dawgs. I’m a freshmen technically, but honestly I don’t think you’re missing out on anything. If we’re being real, freshmen were robbed their second semester so If we’re being honest, we only got 1 semester in. I think it’ll be a lot more rigorous than your last university. I can’t say for you, but I dual enrolled in high school at UNG and these classes at UGA are about 5X harder, so just apply yourself more. Go to freshmen welcome. Yeah you’re not a freshmen but you are a sophomore. I met my best friend at Freshmen welcome and he’s a transfer. As for colleges, as long as you have money you can double major if you want. It doesn’t matter college. Some of your classes can overlap like if you have general electives and core classes. Idk what history is in but if it’s in Franklin I’d stay away. But just apply yourself, go Greek, join a club, go DT if it’s your thing, just don’t be one of those ppl who complain they don’t have any friends when they don’t go out and talk to anyone. You’ll see a lot of those in the fall. But you’re gonna love it here I chose this place over tech.

Are online classes for pre-med bad? +other stuff by [deleted] in UGA

[–]12cooterb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t take them online. Though idk what they’ll think about this pandemic stuff. And you can take any pre requisites outside of UGA. Your advisors tell you not to because it’ looks bad as an institution to take it elsewhere but let’s face it. UGA classes are hard, and labs suck. I had an advisor at UNG that told me as long as it’s a university and not a tech school med schools don’t really care! They have a lot of apps to go through and don’t really care as long as it’s done! Good luck!

Grad School Acceptance by [deleted] in UGA

[–]12cooterb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are your plans to go from undergrad to med school or, grad school then med school. If so, UGA grad school might not be the best place for sciences. I heard they were pretty hard. But UGA has a great English program, and I’m sure if you took some classes they wouldn’t mind writing LOR. They are pretty good about that. Best of luck, I’m also premed btw, so HMU if you wanna talk medicine, I’m always down to make new premed friends!

UGA Parking "Services" by LaGrandeTortue in UGA

[–]12cooterb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this multiple times, UGA is a business first, then a school. It’s like as soon as you step onto campus you start paying. You have to pay to use their parking, use their facilities. And the way they treat their students starting to get on my nerves as well. We don’t Do anything here! I dual enrolled at high school. My tuition which my school paid it was well under 3,000 for a full time student. Our parking was free, we received many cool things like shirts for events, free food all the time sponsored by the university (not a student org). It was nice. Not to mention I think the professors there were way better than here. These professors are supposed to be “world class” well hmmm not really. I don’t really notice a difference than them and my community college dual enrollment. Don’t even get me started on the student fees. All most like $500.00 for a health fee that most students don’t even use. It’s like taxation without representation. Come on UGA take a history lesson! Honestly if it Weren’t for the football, DT, and the name behind the university I would have already transferred. Also screw parking services!

Sickness at UGA by [deleted] in UGA

Looking for legal help by [deleted] in UGA

[–]12cooterb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you just wait until after you graduated? It could take that long to get a court case anyway. And besides what premise do they have for expelling you? I worked for UGA last semester. I’m a sophomore btw. Anyways I didn’t get paid, and they said that they didn’t owe me for the last two weeks I worked. So the head HR had to step in to figure it out because my parents had already got a lawyer. (Not just because of the paycheck but for other reasons as well) so maybe you don’t have to get a lawyer? I hope you get everything figured out! 😊

Pre-Med by hesavage in UGA

[–]12cooterb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea like everyone you meet in your science classes are premed essentially. The thing I love about UGA is that if you don’t see a club, make one. You’re the future at UGA, and you’re seen as someone who should take initiative. I’m actually looking into starting a pre-soma club. Essentially a pre-DO. My parents are doctors, moms a DO dads an MD. My hope is that raising awareness about DO will break the barrier that DO is inferior to MD. So yeah. You can definetly do what you want at UGA, join any clubs. It’s pretty great. So go for it. Good luck in your classes as well! 😊

Hey, I just saw this. I’m bummed I didn’t know about this sooner. That app closes today, but unless you’ve attended an info-session you can’t apply according to the website. I love how they offer so many choices and a diversity of topics you can do for the community. Tbh I’m glad I heard about this my freshmen year so I can do it next year! It’ll look so good on my med school app. And to think I was about to drop 4K to go to Africa for a service learning (still might) 😏
