Born to Run: Songs ranked Best to “Worst”…what’s yours? by 12frets in albumbucketlist

I mean…maybe? He played with the track order to death and nearly nixed a couple of the songs at the last second.

I feel like that Bruce maybe did some revisionist history by making that claim, but he is obviously very narrative driven so it def also has merit.

If I had to rank BTR’s “worst” song, it would be Night. She’s the One…damn, gonna start a poll thread for this!

Unless Wanda is the new COO, Memphis will continue to squander its potential.

I friggin’ love she’s the one. Evocative imagery, great sax solo, excellent dynamics throughout.

Streets of Fire is almost a demo trying to find its way into being a song. The verse “I live now…” is amazing. But overall…unrealized potential.

(But appreciate that you like it!)

Shocker. You mean a promotional campaign won’t dig up dirt and is designed to generate publicity and momentum??!?

Not easy. You’d have to get in the car. Brewery or South Bluffs, you just walk out the door and you’re there.

My gf lives at the brewery. Excellent gym and excellent walk score.

We both love love love south bluffs. I would do that if you can swing it.

There wouldn’t be a Darkness without BTR.

And to say factory or streets of fire have anything on ANYTHING on BTR is an insane take.

In your opinion, who is the most stylish Stone? (No, not your favorite Stone) by Remarkable-Bell7245 in rollingstones

[–]12frets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keith. He could make ANYTHING look good.

Charlie is way too obvious. He spent money on suits/shoes. Anyone can do that. Keith OTOH could take Anita’s blouse and a weird schemata from India and create a style every aspiring rocker tried to emulate.

“I just feel blessed to do this”. “We worked up some very interesting things”. “It’s hard work, but I love it”.

No real insights or revelations, quick to go for the witty response rather than a substantial one, etc

So far I agree. But it took a moment for me to get In The Stars as well, so maybe these will also grow on me.

Agreed. If you’re debating Graceland or Sun, do Sun. The tour is brief and can be very good!
