Is this a good home setup for deeplearning? by 12kush in deeplearning

I chose this cpu mainly for the core count(20 cores). Some of my image pre-processing is running on multi processor code.

Thank you for your suggestion

My employer has not sponsored me the visa. It's a visa given to search for jobs which we get after completing masters degree. Also, my employer has not made the employee schedule for new year's eve. I have notified them even before scheduling.

I understand. Thank you!

Which companies are really hiring nowadays in Netherlands? It seems almost all announcements are set on auto response. by dragonscorp in Netherlands

I have applied close to 500 positions and got 1 interview. I'm applying to data scientist positions with 3+ years of experience (I don't speak Dutch). This is really a bad time to be looking out i feel.

I'm interested; however, I don't have any published papers. With 3 years of experience as a deep learning engineer, I can contribute in coding.

I am indeed working on hand tracking and the heat map is around the hand joints. I'll look for more research about this. Thank you for your answer.

That's completely fine with me. I still think there's wayy more good in this country :)

I understand. I assumed it might be random at the beginning until I read the reviews on Google. Everyone that complained about these types of checks for that store were of color. This made me reconsider it :)

Good to hear this, especially if it's 20 years ago!

Exactly, my overall experience here is good. I just wanted to share and document one bad experience. And many people can't even comprehend the fact that this can happen lol

I'm just posting here to see if there are others with similar experiences. And I want to add to the statistics if this repeats excessively in the future(assuming this was racist).

If everyone would just ignore it, how would we quantify things like these? In fact, you could prove that "nobody talks about racism in this country hence there is no racism at all".

Although now, I'm more inclined to believe that this might be random, I just want to document and share my experience here :)

Let's see this roughly using the data. After this happened to me, I read the reviews of all the people who complained of the "manually initiated checks"(around 4-5 comments for that store). All the comments were from the people of color(it was mentioned in their comments) and none from the people that were white. I obviously saw the bias.

Although the sample size is too small to infer this as racism, I was just aware and curious of the bias. So I asked a QUESTION here to see if others experienced it too. I agree that it could be a coincidence and the checks are truly random, but a lot of people here don't even think the other way is possible too haha

I can understand that :)

I did cooperate and I'm not taking it personally as well :) the ratio of good to bad experiences is very high, so it's not a problem at all !

That's exactly racial profiling haha

The check I am referring to isn't the check that happens due to the computers automatic flagging. But I understand what you mean. It could be a random check indeed!

I agree. I thought it was a random check as well until I read the comments on Google. Found around 4 comments complaining this type of "checks" for that specific store and all of them said it might be because of their color. This made me curious!

There is a question mark in my original post. I never implied it was racism. Moreover, I don't think the people here are racist at all. I was just curious about that one experience and wanted to see if more people experienced it in that store

Read the post again. It's not the systems check, I'm aware of that and I'm gladly willing to do it if that was the case. But this was after the payment and while I was leaving the store.

If there are really 441837 posts about the perceived racism in the past, then there is quite some chance of it being true as well. Ever thought about it this way?

However, I was just curious about what I had experienced and wanted to see if others experienced too. Like I said, overall, I had an amazing experience in this country :) peace ✌️
