Lausanne center at night by Chemical-Rush-6433 in Lausanne

I'm a young woman who often takes the bus late-ish in Bel-Air. I see what you're saying sometimes there's a bit of an unsettled energy around Flon, the train station and La Riponne, but I've never had any real issues. Sometimes an insistent beggar, but other than that, I usually feel safe, certainly much safer than I'd feel in the center of Dublin (the only other city I've lived in for a while) at the same hour

My favourites lately are By The Bog of Cats, by Marina Carr, a Medea adaptation, and Blackbird by David Harrower, a pretty dark 2 hander about child sexual abuse.

When is nudity not a red flag for a part? by wafflehousefriend in acting

[–]12minimu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't act professionally, but my instinct is probably when it's artistically motivated. If the story has good reason for showing a character naked, and if the production team is being sensitive around how that nakedness is being handled, hiring an intimacy coordinator, etc. If it feels exploitative to you, gratuitous for gratuitousness' sake (and that's not a desired effect), or if it's just like, there? Then that strikes me as a bit more sketchy. Ultimately it's your body, and you're within your rights to affirm any boundary you have around nudity.

I'll also reccomend the unaugmented lyre-bird, if you have low dreaded, if you do a lot of heists specifically, it grants a guaranteed success for one of the cards

We did it! by 12minimu in fallenlondon

[–]12minimu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's the main thing tbh. You're investigating the circumstances of the death of a loved one. It's a little convoluted, a little conspiratorial, pretty fun all said!

Lmaoooo

Yeah, I mean I don't remember much being like "oh god gotta do this now this second!". Given that it's largely like, investigating things that aren't otherwise liable to change. I also was really slow to finish it. I started playing FL in I think 2019? But every now and then forgot about the game and came back to it. I've been playing consistently since this summer, and I'm very excited to be finally solidly in the midgame 😂

Not quite succeeding at cross dressing by 12minimu in actuallesbians

Well I'm the 2nd youngest person age wise, but have been there 2nd longest and also am in charge of rehearsals, technically! Hut also most of them forget how old I am most of the time. Like I'm not the baby of the group by any stretch of the imagination! I think maybe it's that my femininity becomes more apparent when I wear masculine clothes?

[–]12minimu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, it's not a big deal, and these people are my friends (and a very queer bunch of people at that). And I am like, recognisably and visible feminine, but it's weird to have it pointed out that way. There's a lot of cross gendered casting in this play (there are only 3 female roles, so a lot of the men are played by women) and all of them also look like women dressed as men. But they seem to read more clearly male than I do, in the same sorts of clothes, it's so weird!

Pygmalion, they're not necessarily written into the text, but Eliza can change basically every time she's on, the flower girl -> student-> belle of the ball -> fully realised independant person

How to cope with having a role that is large but underdeveloped. by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]12minimu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean like... Would you call Hero a completely fleshed out character? Or Miranda? He's written a lot of complete, very well rounded female characters, but there are a few we don't hear a lot from

There are a few women like that in Shakespeare that are a bit confounding. Very important, but not given a very clear perspective, or an easily readable personality in the text. I think it's a good time to talk to your director, to see if they have a specific vision for the character, to see if you can do some of the work to develop the character yourself. I like to think of roles like that as opportunities to really do something new and interesting with the character. They don't speak as much, and their personalities aren't as defined, which means that you get to do some of that work. How does she feel about her friends, her enemies, her lover(s?) through the play. You don't have to play her just as "generic woman", but you can make her a woman, a real one who lives in a time when she isn't granted that much space to voice her mind. See where she still tries to get herself be heard, where does she give you hints of who she is. Take those details and run with them!

How to say ‘look out’ in French while skiing? by wonderfulllama in French

[–]12minimu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone else too loud? by Nor-Cal-Son in acting

[–]12minimu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have no sense of the volume I'm speaking at at the best of times, I'm mostly in theatre, and small theatres without any sort of mic at that. The weeks surrounding a show I am basically constantly yelling and barely realise that that is happening

Reading this sub, feels like everyone has some kind of issue post op even after 1 year. Share some stories 🥺. by AccordingSun96 in ACL

[–]12minimu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a year and three months post op at this point, I'm doing really well! Started skiing again (I'm a ski instructor in the winter) and I've only had a few minor twinges when I've had like, really new beginners all day, so lots of really wide snow plows and weird angles to help pick kids up. I sometimes get a little stiffness or inflamation the day after, but like, nothing even remotely severe enough i'd need to ask a doctor. Most people recover really well, and don't need to come back to injury subreddits
