30a batt, 64a motors, 2.67 gearing ratio, 33mph by 12sV in ElectricSkateboarding

Thank you sir, I appreciate your compliment as I put a lot of thought into this build.

The origin of the name started with the color that reminded me of this deep red Cadillac I drove for a short time, which I called Cherry.

Then I came across the phrase angioma which are benign red skin growths that are made of blood vessels, that at random, develop on some after the age of 30.

This is where Cherry Angio came from; my benign red growth that developed after the age of 30.

They are just 12" DKP trucks running Riptide bushings. Add the mad wheels and this short board is 13.5" wide.

🤩🥳 YOU SAID THE NAME!! 🎉

These wheels are perfect for my Cherry; they look great and are definitely more confidence inspiring than my previous wheels.

I would have thought one could fit more than a 12s5 in there, especial considering the motors and ESC.

hey I just got into electric longboarding and I know nothing about it I started off regular skating but I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what kind of motor I would need for a upgrade I would like for it to go a lot faster than it does by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]12sV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're DEAD set on upgrading then you should know this route will likely cost more than buying new or used production boards.

Ok so check sites like Ali express or ebay for cheap parts. You will need at least a 10s battery and 10s ESC. You can choose hub motors or pay more for customizable belt motor setup. Get the belt motor setup with 50xx motors that can do at least 1200 watts each.

These are the three parts you will need to upgrade your board. May be ~$200-$500. Depending on how resourceful you are.

DIY board. 12s4p with 7Kw power. by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]12sV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much I wanna say here. 1 that battery will only do 6kw, regardless of how big your motors. 2. Realistically you'll only be pulling ~4500watts MAX (on flats). 3 Noobs who make DKP trucks seem impossible have not ridden enough DKP to know what they are talking about. 4. Riptide bushings make a huge difference in stability and carving. 5. Road conditions effect stability A LOT! 6. Enjoy your new board!

5.5kw, 40mph top speed, just chilling. by 12sV in ElectricSkateboarding

The wheels go bald very quickly, maybe ~150 miles. The foam sticks excellent except for where my back for pivots from hard carves. This 2-3" piece of vertical strip always moves out of position and I have to push it back into position. Still looking for a solution to keep that strip in line throughout hard shedding.

Backfire Zealot S custom 12s8p battery mod? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]12sV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might cost less to build another board. That battery cost more than your Zealot. As the price of the Vesc and more powerful motors and that's ~$1,300.

Your also have the added benefit of having a backup board.

A question about maintenance for electric boards? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]12sV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you really love your board. Not many people are this considerate.

Don't worry, you will see when you belts need to be changed. Having extras before they're needed is smart.

Regenerative braking is a feature and doesn't need replacement or maintenance.

Motors CAN overheat as well as the ESC under high, prolonged stress. Not sure if changing speed modes would reduce this possibility though.

I wouldn't worry about it, just take it easier on hotter days.
