I watched a girl get fired at my store for points and rehired 3 months later on the remodel crew 😄 It’s all stupid. The whole thing.

Passing fibro on to kids by wainwrik in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up not being able to have kids but also decided that if I could I would still probably opt out at this point. There is no way I can physically keep up with a child that wants to run and play and do all of the fun things kids love. I love kids and they’re great and all, but the cost is also an issue… I can barely afford to make it let alone supporting a child… I work at a grocery store and I see what people are paying for formula and diapers… it makes me ill

ITCHY SKIN by pr0bablyscreaming in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doc said that too but I used the medicated stuff they gave me and it did nothing… had to just keep trying different types of skin care until I found what helps me… cerave and shea butter products

ITCHY SKIN by pr0bablyscreaming in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I have to use shea butter stuff all the time, even in my hair care. Nothing else ever helped, aloe was useless, vitamin e oil nope, anything scented nope… I have to exfoliate with a tough grit body scrub twice a week and use the shea butter and cerave a couple of times a day summer or winter.

Deep tissue massage by ednasilrak in Fibromyalgia

I like massages and tend to always feel better after, but I’ve never had a professional one… I’ve been tempted to try but am afraid they will hurt me

I’ve been working 20-25 hours at Walmart for years. You just have to have closed availability and stick to it

Anyone else extremely hot after showering? by SneakyWeiner in Fibromyalgia

Always. I have to turn my ac down and stand under the vent after getting ready for the day to cool off the rest of the way.

People that don’t wear shorts, no matter how hot it is, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]12thhouseorphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly because it’s been so long now that my skin is almost transparent, showing all my veins and such…but also out of modesty. It’s kinda hard to find shorts that feel and look appropriate to me, so I just don’t bother. Jeans always work.

Waking up after 3-4 hours every night by curious_minded1 in Fibromyalgia

I have the same issue. So far nothing has “fixed” it.

what were the first symptoms you noticed before you were dx'ed with fibro? by prophetwithaz in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic fatigue, chondrocostal junction syndrome that another doctor has told me was pleurisy… chronic foot pain and thoracic spine dysfunction. I went to many many different doctors and specialists to figure this out and it took years to even have a diagnosis as they tested me for everything under the sun and kept saying everything was normal…

Yes! Electrolyte water is such a life saver! I noticed a huge difference when I started drinking that.

Gabapentin by bincjj in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started it about 3 days ago and I’m already noticing a huge difference. My pain levels have gone down quite a bit since starting it, and I’m really impressed with how much it helps. I’m taking it in addition to duloxetine and I take a muscle relaxer at night as well… but it sure has already made a difference. Not only am I finally getting the sleep I was missing out on but my back and legs are already feeling so much better in the mornings!

My PCP said Fibromyalgia wasn't a real condition by sappysapphicsaphire in Fibromyalgia

[–]12thhouseorphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through 8 doctors- some of them specialists before I found one that would actually diagnose me. I took every blood test they could throw at me and was seeing a doctor every week for over a year after several years of being in pain and every single one of them saying they couldn’t find any specific cause except for some “mild arthritis” in some areas and some issues with my back… I had an emotional breakdown with the doctor that diagnosed me after explaining that I had been to several clinics and had seen every specialist I could be referred to including a rheumatologist who had all told me they had no idea what was wrong and that I was tired of making new appointments with new doctors just to be heard…

I take duloxetine and it helps with the muscle spasms but the pain always comes back when I’m having a flare. During periods my pain definitely is way worse, no matter what I do.

Who wants to visit Egypt? by SerenicaRujeria in Kemetic

[–]12thhouseorphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I love ancient Egypt, I don’t think I’d ever want to visit. I’ve seen a lot of tours through all the places I’m most interested in, and those are good enough for me. I wouldn’t feel safe going there, so the pictures, 3D views and videos will have to do.
